    Advantages Advantages Cheap, community

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Many non-paying members

This review is based on a researchers view only ~Introduction~ JustAnswer.com is an online forum with a view of Google Answers. Members answer other member's questions for money. The twist is anyone can answer anyone's question. This means you don't have to apply for a job at Google Answers to answer questions. ~Answering questions~ When answering questions you type your answer in a text box. A recent answer of mine was: Question: Expain the relationship between China's geography and its belief that it was the sole source of civilization. Answer must be in details and contain a minimum of ... more

Advantages Advantages You could get a good answer really cheaply

Disadvantages Disadvantages Take it or be harrassed until you take it

This review is not about how good or bad the answers you get from justanswers.com My early experiences with them were good - quick answers, low cost, and you could decide what to pay & whether or not to accept the answers. You could still get that, but you take your chances. They have changed their business model in very bad ways. They removed the DECLINE button, so it's hard to say "I don't want to pay for this answer" They make veiled threats on the help pages. If you look up DECLINING an answer they tell you the "experts" see your ACCEPT/DECLINE ratio & may not want to work with you. But ... more

    1 Star Quick review of justanswer.com by Bob712 23/09/2008
I used JustAnswer and instantly realised that the "Expert" did not know the subject and palmed me off with some nonsence then hit me with a plea to accept his answer (meaning payment) when I replied to say he had not answered the question he responded with a second similarly vague response. As I understand most of the experts are US based and as my question concerned a UK domestic appliance product of a specific type and model the expert was lost. On that basis it is clear to see why no one pays.

Advantages Advantages Open forum to post questions and answers on any topic.

Disadvantages Disadvantages OH, where to begin. Nonpaying customers, no expert comradery, very cut-throat, low payout, waste of time and energy

This site is set up as a live advice site similiar to Keen or Kasamba, etc. They recruit "experts" to answer questions and clients post questions, receive multiple responses, and decide whether or not they want to pay for them. Expert credentials are not verified. Clients can read all answers as long as deposit is paid. Lots of kids cheating on their homework, which is sickening. Purported "nurses" and "veterinarians" answering health and pet questions, you can tell by the quality of their answers that they are not truly professionals (unless they are just that inept at their professions). It ... more

Advantages Advantages Will take your money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of incorrect information

The truth about Just Answer and it's experts. Just Answer's experts evaluate each other. Since the experts that have been there for a long time can make a pretty good income, they do not like to see new experts come to the site. This cuts their income. They will report them to management. After so many reports, the new expert gets a email saying ,they can no longer be an expert on the site. The new expert has no appeal rights. No way they can even know who reported them. Many of the older experts cut and paste information. They copy information and use it as their personal answer. Most of the ... more

Advantages Advantages They make lots of money to your cost

Disadvantages Disadvantages You pose questions that are just not answered!

I have just replied to jstanswer for the fourth time giving reasons why I am far from happy with their service. Its like trying to hit a shadow. It is just another US of A scam - apparently to find a way into your accounts where no doubt a few unlawful withdrawals will be made unless the Bank is warned. I have now requested them to remove my details from their database for the fourth time. Either staff on their customer service desk are skilled on fending off enquiries or have difficulty in reading plain English. Examples of the replies I have recieved include: Please let me have further ... more

Advantages Advantages An way to make some extra cash

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not all but a lot of the experts are bitter, backstabbing and cliquey. Lots of disadvantages...

Jake is absolutely right! Just Answser’s experts DO evaluate each other. “They do not like to see new experts come to the site. This cuts their income. They will report them to management. After so many reports, the new expert gets a email saying, they can no longer be an expert on the site. The new expert has no appeal rights.” - This is exactly what happened to me. I was on the site for just under a year and it that time became the top expert in my field, kept my head down and bothered no one except to help them out if they emailed me, (there are ways other experts can check this to keep the ... more

Advantages Advantages Helpful, fun, interesting, meaningfu

Disadvantages Disadvantages Experts rarely get to find out what happens down the road.

The last two reviews were by people who share a last name, and a grudge, against the site. I read the reviews and knew that the second reviewer had been an expert who was embittered before I realized he admitted to being a former expert. I have been an expert on the site since the summer. I am a lawyer who used to practice law in Ontario, Canada and I can tell you that our credentials are verified. I am not a lawyer who cannot find work. I am a retired lawyer who wants to do something good with my spare time. I believe this site is allowing me to do this as I have helped thousands of people ... more

    Advantages Advantages none

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's a waste of time and money.

I have been a member of just Answer since January 2007, and have received 3 moderately useful replies in the past (none solved the problem: the advice wasn't wrong, just basic and, in 2 of the 3 cases, obvious..) Yesterday, however, was another matter entirely, and leads me to agree with the reviewer who called JustAnswer the definition of a bogus web business. In brief, I asked an auto repair question, received a bad link to an answer, did finally get a working link after 2 complaints, and arrived at a document with truly undecipherable illustrations (think multiple faxes of a doc already ... more

Advantages Advantages None don;t go there

Disadvantages Disadvantages I would not deal with them again

I asked a question on 20th Aug 2011 about my car.I e mailed them a couple of days later kept on checking my e mail no answer. So I e mailed and asked for my money back no reply and no money back. I just left it and thought what a fool I had been. However when I check my bank statement I found they had taken £22.00 each month since and still no reply. My account shows I have £22.00 credit but where has the other money gone I should have a credit of £66.00 As I paid by card I can;t get my money back. Take care watch out don;t be fooled like me a trusting soul. I have e mailed them again lets ... more
