Advantages: Internet Banking
Disadvantages: Always trying to sell you something if you use the branch

Advantages: Excellent service, reliable and honest if they make a mistake.
Disadvantages: Cannot offer all HE students a student account.

I have banked with Lloyds for many years now and overall I am very pleased with their service. I opened a 'Headway' account when I was 12 years old. I used it for my birthday and christmas money. I then got a young student account when I was 16 and then upgraded to a full account when I was 18. Advantages: Pay bills without visiting the bank, online statements, transfer money between your accounts
Disadvantages: Statements sometimes a few days behind

Online banking with Lloyds TSB is easy and free. To sign up, all I did was go into my nearest branch and picked up a form. Filled in the form and sent it off and within a few weeks I recieved my user ID and my password. When you log you can transfer money between your accounts and pay bills without the fuss of actually visiting the bank. I am a customer of Lloyds TSB and I like to check my account most days to ensure the credits and debits are correct as I have had some past problems, so needless to say I was pretty pleased when they introduced internet banking, as previously I was using the automated phonebank, and I always like to see facts in figures in front of me, so the internet is a preferable option. ...I am. You see, the Lloyds TSB on-line bank is the /same/ bank as Lloyds TSB, it isn’t some separate off shoot. In theory, some cunning scallywag could enter my account details from their computer, get set up with access to the on-line details of my account (my £2.37) and transfer the whole lot to his account. Advantages: excellent free overdraft, visa debit/cash card
Disadvantages: not as simple to access as it could be

I have been banking with the LLoydsTSB student eBank for two years. The account has offered everything I could need as a student. The bank offered the best interest free overdraft out of any of the banks I looked at. For the first year there is a maximum £1,500 rising to £2,000 in the second year. Disadvantages: Low interest rates and account charges

I've had this account for about 2 years now and I'm still using it as my main account. Quite surprising as as the interest rate is low and some of the services are expensive. At the moment a lot of other banks are offering cash incentives to transfer your main account and the financial watchdogs are trying to make the process as easy as possible. Now I've been a TSB customer for ten years now and signed up for their phonebanking service, while convenient it was also very time consuming and a right pain and they then came up with the automated idea and this was just as bad. Their next scheme as LLoyds/TSB was online banking and I have to say that it is brilliant. At Lloyds/TSB I can log on and instantly see how much (or little) I have in each of my accounts.
