    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not very thick

Now on the rare occasions I do get an hour to myself there's nothing I like more than relaxing on the sofa with a cup of coffee in one hand and a glossy magazine in the other. A few years ago I used to buy a lot of magazines each month titles such as New Woman, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and then smaller magazines in-between to feed my craving for celebrity gossip and hair and beauty. Then I got into debt and I had to look at my spending and see where I could cut back. I added it up and I was shocked to find out I was spending anywhere between £20 - £30 a month on magazines! I realised that ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap price, lots of articles, good value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pages are thin and tear easily

I first bought this magazine on the first week of its release when I was heavily pregnant. I was bored and needed something interesting to read while I sat at home wallowing around with a huge tummy. It was on a trial price for 30p and I thought "even if its rubbish I cant moan for 30p". Well I was right, and that was well over a year ago now and I still read Love It! magazine! So here is a little recap of what is in the magazine week by week.. Firstly, Love It! always comes out on a Tuesday and it's usual selling price is 65p (its just gone up 5p to 65p from 60p), a bargain price for a mag if ... more

 LOVE IT!  I was suppose to start this review a few weeks ago but to be honest I forgot all about writing it because there were so many other items of interest to write about so here’s my review on Love It! Magazine. I not one for reading magazines as I prefer reading books when I have the time, but while visiting my parents recently I picked up a magazine called Love It! And I think it’s a great magazine for any adult age and any household it’s suitable for both men and women. So what’s in it?  REAL LIFE ... more

Up until recently I was a magazine-aholic, buying several a month, from the glossies like Glamour and Company, to the weekly celeb mags like Closer and Reveal. I eventually cut down because I realised it was costing me an absolute fortune! Saying that though, a girl needs her gossip fix every now and then, and last week I thought 'what the heck - one little magazine won't hurt' and that's how I came to buy 'love it!' The main reason I went for this one, was that it was the cheapest one on the shelf! Normally 60p, this weekly magazine was half price, at 30p, for one week only, which seemed like ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, cheap and something for everyone to enjoy!

Disadvantages Disadvantages More geared towards women although that doesn't say men can't enjoy it!

I love to sit down with a magazine and a brew when I have my lunch break at work or even when I don't want to start a new book because I know I won't have time to sit down with it properly! So if I want something to read during my lunch break I normally find myself with a copy of a cheap real life magazine. There are lots that I buy on a regular basis and one of them is this one - 'Love it!' The Magazine: The magazine is a weekly real life/celebrity gossip type that comes out every Thursday. The features: The thing I love most about this magazine is that it has a bit of everything in it. There ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fun read! Price!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

The magazine covers the majority of ‘lifestyle’ topics; real life stories, celebrities, fashion, beauty, health, money, horoscopes, competitions, puzzles etc and so there really is something for everyone. A huge part of the magazine is real-life stories; there are 12 stories in this magazine (each at least a double page or more). The majority of stories are quite shocking such as the lady who ripped off the bottom of her foot in an accident whilst on holiday or the young lady who is addicted to eating plaster; so all in all, the stories aren’t really about ‘every day’ things. Apart from the ... more

Advantages Advantages range of articles, easy to read, positive tone, some good features

Disadvantages Disadvantages nothing of real relevance or interest, a throwaway mag

Love it! is one of a number of women's glossy magazines. It is released on a weekly basis and currently costs 68p per issue. I actually picked up a copy that someone else had left on the train and as it was the latest issue I thought I'd give it a try, as I would not usually buy this sort of magazine. The main focus is real life stories from readers. The front cover is very colourful and has bold printed titles describing the sort of shocking real life events you can expect to read about inside this issue. Inside it's laid out in a simple way with presentation being clear and easy to follow ... more

Advantages Advantages Very cheap!! Easy to read, some interesting stories...

Disadvantages Disadvantages You may start worrying about peculiar things...

♥♥ Love It! ♥♥ I thought it was about time I wrote another review and whilst pondering I became distracted and re-read an article from 'love-it' that I had brought a week or so earlier, and then a little light bulb pinged above my head "Cor blimey, why not write about what is before your very eyes!" ♥♥ The Price ♥♥ Now, what's the most important thing when buying a magazine? Who said content, of course not, shut up...It is, of course, the price! The cheaper the better, and so when I found a copy of this for 30p I just couldn't refuse!! Better ... more

Advantages Advantages Mixture of real life and celebs

Disadvantages Disadvantages too much on home shopping

Love it Magazine is a must for everyone to try. What I love about it is that there is a good mixture between real life and celebrities, not too much of one, just about right. I have been reading this magazine for a while now, I first got it when it was on trial at a cost of 30p, the current price is 68 pence, which is well worth it. The edition I will review today is very recent dated 28th oct - 3 nov 2008. FRONT COVER Very Bright, eye catching, mixture of text and pictures. Stands out on the shelves in the shops. There is a page at the beginning called editor's letter. This is where Karen the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Instant disposable gratification!

Disadvantages Disadvantages To many celeb features creeping in

Blimey, how difficult was it to write the title without thousands of different puns on 'loving it' Love It is the relative newcomer to the weekly womens disposable mags. It has replaced itself in my affections for Take a Break which seems to have turned into a publication for the 50+ crusading granny brigade, and has taken us British away from the thing we truly love! Misfortune, we love misfortune, the more problems another person has the better! How else to explain the explosive popularity of all those true life stories? You know the ones, 'how I turned my life after it was destroyed by ... more
