I am writing this opinion from first hand experience with the Macmillan Organisation. My father was diagnosed with the disease in September 1999. It took some weeks for his diagnosis to be confirmed as many of the tests he was given had come back negative, but from two hours after the confirmation of his condition we were given a Macmillan Nurse. A good charity site that I have come across is the Macmillan Cancer Relief site. Its very informative and tells you all about the work that Macmillan does, these people do a very well worthy job. Along with this there are chat rooms and coffee mornings that people can join in and discuss their stories and worries together along with a section where you can even make a donation to this well worthy charity on line.
