MyPoints or Pointless? The question on many a freebie hunter's lips... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE: MyPoints have now been taken over by theMutual.net and have relaunched as MutualPoints. The earnings are much the same, but you can now redeem for cash (although the claim threshold has been raised to £20). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MyPoints is yet another loyalty reward site where users are rewarded for visiting certain web sites, taking up offers and answering surveys. It operates in much the same way as ipoints and, as with the Ciao/DooYoo split, members are often loyal to one or the other. MyPoints ... more

    Advantages Advantages Free points

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very low payout, Takes ages to physically earn something

I joined MyPoints last month after reading several opinions on this site. I went in with high expectations and was truly and utterly disappointed after I used the site. If you are in it for the sake of obtaining reward points for free, in this case I mean without actually purchasing anything, then MyPoints gives you the following earning options: 1) Visiting Web Sites 2) Completing Surveys 3) Try It Out 4) Refer-A-Friend 5) Receiving e-mail containing a “clickable” link that will earn you the specified points. Everything sounds really great so far but when you look into each ... more

    Advantages Advantages something for nothing

Disadvantages Disadvantages can take a while for the points to add up

MyPoints is another online reward site just like Ipoints or WebRewards (although, WebRewards will be closing down at the end of July 2001). You earn points for visiting web sites, shopping with retailers’ partners, read and respond to MyPoints e-mails and also for taking surveys. I joined MyPoints back in September last year, and since then, this reward site has got bettererer and bettererer! • Navigation and Loading The log-in/sign-up page loads very quickly and without too much fuss, it also gives you a good idea what the rest of the site has in store. It also boasts three ... more

Advantages Advantages Free to use, something for nothing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a long time to earn a small amount.

MyPoints.co.uk is yet another money-making opportunity that has opened up on the internet. However, unlike sites such as I-points, Dooyoo, Consumer Reviews and Ciao, the speed at which you add up points are very much dictated to you, rather than you being able to go off and earn as many as you can. Registration to the site is simple, just simply supplying the usual contact information. You then have several choices on how to earn points, which convert to money. But while there are plenty of opportunities to spend the point you earn, there really aren't that many opportunities to earn points in ... more

Advantages Advantages you can earn vouchers. is quite easy

Disadvantages Disadvantages points are quite hard to get

Mypoints can be found at mypoints.co.uk for English users. It is a reward program where you earn points, not money. When your points total up, you can exchange them for gift vouchers for almost every high street shop of your choice. 750 will earn you a £5 gift voucher, and 1350 will get you a £10 gift voucher. So it pays to save as you get more money for your points. You can earn up to £25 gift vouchers, but personally I wouldn't recommend this as it takes to long to make up enough points. Earning the points - This can be done is a number of different ways. The easiest way is to fill in all ... more

Advantages Advantages Free stuff after collecting enough points

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can take a while to amass points

One day while skiing the internet (Others surf, I ski. I like to be different) I stumbled upon mypoints.co.uk. Don't ask me how I found it, that time in my life is too long ago to remember and a bit blurry round the edges anyway. The theory behind mypoints.co.uk is by visiting various websites, making purchases from advertised retailers or entering the lottery run alongside mypoints - thedailydraw.com - you amass reward points. These points, after accruing enough, can be exchanged for either charitable donations, money-off vouchers for almost any store in Britain or freebie items. The layout ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages wont get you rich

Another ones of those get rich schemes on the net? No, because it wont get you rich, but it does reward you every now and again, usually about once every six months with a fiver if you are lucky. Yes I know a fiver isn’t anything these days, but hey you’re not spending any money to get this fiver. (You’re guaranteed more if you do). So how does it work, and what is it? Well I’m sure you’ve all heard of Mypoints, but I’ll tell you about them anyway. A site that offers you points to visit web sites and sign up for information, and if you are so inclined you ... more

Advantages Advantages You Never Have To Buy Anything

Disadvantages Disadvantages You’ll be 130 years old by the time you have earned a £25 M&S voucher

MyPoints is one in a second generation of ‘reward schemes’ that have followed in the footsteps (and perhaps in the ultimate demise of...) Multi-Kredits, Beenz, SurfMiles and Trocomania. The idea is to collect points and then exchange them for a variety of rewards such as High Street Shopping Vouchers. You earn points by clicking through advertisers on the site, by signing up with other web-initiatives, referring friends to the scheme and, primarily, by responding to e-mails. A handful of big name partners such as Superdrug and Marks & Spencers lend some credibility to the set-up ... more

Advantages Advantages does pay out promptly

Disadvantages Disadvantages slow building points up

In case you don't know what mypoints is,the idea is simple. You sign up and agree to recieve emails taylored to your interests in return for points which you can then exchange for goods or vouchers. You can also earn more points by logging in to the site and visiting a few web sites or purchasing various services through mypoints. The advertising mainly seems to be from british firms and you are some times offered more points as an incentive for responding to their offers. You get points just for reading the emails as long as you click on the special link to confirm that you have read the email ... more

Advantages Advantages easy, quick (not a waste of time), they do pay

Disadvantages Disadvantages you won't get rich, no cash alternative

I have looked at and tried several schemes, but the one I really use is mypoints. That is for 2 reasons: it is fast and easy and you really get something (though not a lot). #Earning points: By signing up, you start receiving e-mails. Clicking on the links means about 10 points each (there are some with 5, but not many). I would close the website if I am not interested: a few seconds in total. Other times you get the points by registering(and it should not be much more than your name and e-mail address you need to fill in): 20 to 50 points. Of course, if you buy something through these ... more
