    I first stumbled across newgrounds.com from a link n a message board which I found whilst browsing the web. The content of the site is general madness, insanity, humour, but quite a lot of this is based around severe violence. It contains several main categories: ------ Portal ------ This contains quote "A vast universe of flash animations" unquote. Some of these are interactive, some are not, but a large proportion base themselves around pointless violence. "An unfortunate accident", "Splat the stickmen" etc..     Newgrounds started out as a teenage American's site for making fun of the media world. You could kill annoying celebrities (i.e Hanson), talk to Jesus by means of a pager and take part in lude but hilarious acts as one of the teletubbies. This was achieved with FLASH: the great animation plugin from Macromedia. He's still making hilarious games and movies like this, but since a huge explosion in the site's popularity, he has allowed other people with flash to expose their movies and games to the world.     This site is kinda similar to punchbaby, although it isnt video clips of naked miget dancing and stuff! (dont ask - secret fetish- hehe)Anyway. It's still a whole bunch of madness, its got "assasin" where you can kill your favourite, or erm least favourite famous star. How about Spearing Britney? literally?     When the makers of society made it they made it hard for people who like alternative/punk to live in it, now for older people I bet it is easy going but for school kids who are into alternative/punk they are labled as sweaty's (someone who likes nirvanna, green day, papa roach ect) and is no where in today's society for these 'sweatys' to go, well that was what I thought until I went on 'NEW GROUNDS.COM' tomorrows problems today, now many people find it disgusting and twisted but all it really is, is a bit of a laugh in which anyone can come on and do pretty much anything.     I have been a member of this site since 2006, since then it's had one redesign which did change the site in an amazing way, userpages where added which gives members the ability to have a kind of blog and have other users reply to that blog. Also the layout of that is certainly great, with the website based stats down the side and content like favourites in the main middle part. Userpages also allow users to have there own graphics up to represent themself, which is a nice feature, some people have 3 part graphics to build up a larger image.     I've spent a lot of time playing about on Newgrounds, and for a long time, too. The site has grown a lot over time, to be the huge behmoth it is now. It is essentially a Flash playground - anyone can upload anything they want for other people to see and rate. Anything with a bad rating gets deleted, to keep the quality at least above rock bottom. The site itself has a fairly simple layout - navigation is by a flash bar near the top. The colours have good contrast and the font is generally easy to read.     Newgrounds is a great website if you ever have absolutly nothing else to do. trust me, this website could take over you nights, breaks or even life. The audio portal is a great place to find Royalty-Free music created by independent artists. Of course it is nor,al custom to thank the artist, but hey, it IS royalty-free. The range of music on there is immense. Defenatly worth a look. The flash portal is great to. Sick of watching Videos with that 'Unregistered Hypercam' In the corner? No need now! All of the animations you find on video sites WILL be on newgrounds. Its the mecca for all things ... more

    Although the site was originally, and still is a place for teens to take the piss out of media and all the world that American glitz and shobusiness has created, it hasn't lost its appeal. Some of the best stuff has included doing disgusting things with Teletubbies. Coooool! If you go to this site you will be rolling around on your desk in hysterical laughter. I especially like the Ring Ring Ring banana phone animation that was added relatively recently. All the animations are done in Flash so make sure you have the plugin!     Newgrounds is a great site that has been around for sometime (as you can see with how old a lot of the other reviews are). There are a lot of changes on Newgrounds since the last few reviews. It has a new design which makes it so much easier to navigate and find what your looking for. The main thing featured on Newsground is the flash portal, which is basically a place where members of the site upload there own animations that they have created using Adobe Flash.
