    Novatech is one of the many UK based PC manufacturers come peripheral and parts retailers. The main office is based just outside of Portsmouth and acts both as a mail order, web order and normal shop in which people can come in and purchase direct from the catalogue. ~~The Web Site~~ The Novatech website is very well styled and set-up. The style that it is created in, which seems to be the norm for websites like this has links down the left-hand side of the web page to the different categories of products.     Every now and again you come across a web site that has some really good bargains and I am pleased to say Novatech is one of these and I will share my experience of them with you. I know they don’t advertise much, so often the best way you find sites like this is via word of mouth. So take note have a quick look. Novatech is a mainly a computer parts and system retailer.     I regular receive email price updates from Novatech and they always have some good hardware for excellent prices. I have known about Novatech for a long time but had never used them until last week when I could not resist the temptation to buy an Athlon power bundle for £215 + VAT. This bundle consists of the mighty Athlon 1600XP (which incidentally knocks socks off Intel Pentium 4 class processors running at higher clock speeds), a Chaintech 7KJD motherboard with onboard 5.1 surround sound built in, a heatsink/fan and 256 MB of high speed DDR RAM.     I recently upgraded all our IT at work. Having never had to choose PCs for anyone but myself before, I did my research carefully. I work for a charity and our budget is miniscule but we desperately needed two new computers. I contacted Dell, Dan and Novatech among others with a short spec, asking for their recommendations. Dell never replied - guess they didn't see the point for customer service (see my op on Dell!!), Dan didn't really have the range, and Novatech rang me the next day to discuss my requirements.     Novatech are now a fairly well established company. I have been using them for all my computer supplies for the past six years, when I first used them to buy a 16Mb SIMM for my now long dead 486 PC. And so far, they have delivered the good every time. Not once have I been disappointed, not once has their been a delay, and not once have I had cause to complain.     I have mixed feeling when it comes to Novatech, mainly because every time I shop with them and there is a problem, how they deal with it varies. Probably the first experience I have of Novatech's returns was when I bought my complete system from them the first time, that is, a tower with components, and a keyboard set, with a monitor I purchased seperately from them. When I first got it, only two days after a problem developed, the motherboard was reading the procesor temperature at 80 degrees idle.     For the whole of my adult life, I have funded my studies and bad habits by working in retail. I have become a specialist customer service assistant and have always worked for high-end, prestige companies.     I first used this website to order products about 12 months ago, recommended by my uncle and a friend. I decided to take a look and was very surprised at the low cost. Since finding this site I have ordered a motherboard upgrade bundle (motherboard, RAM and Processor), more RAM, Norton Antivirus, A cd re-writer ,monitor, and removable storage on various occasions, all arriving very quickly. *Website Design* 2/5 The website design isn't as bad as the mark immidiately suggests, however it is poor when compared to that of ebuyer.co.uk and dabs.com.     So far I am not impressed with Novatech, six weeks ago I ordered a new motherboard bundle for my wife’s system. Upon receiving it I asked a friend of mine, who builds computers and maintains network systems for a large majority of businesses in the Southeast to fit it for me. The reasons for this is, following an industrial accident I am no longer able to do this kind of task myself. The motherboard was fitted; the system ran, after 45 minutes the system stopped.
