Virtual Currency That Makes You Rich - Quick

Advantages: Quick, simple to use, very user-friendly
Disadvantages: May become integrated into the eBay web site

I’ve been using www.ebay.com now for the best part of two years. In that time, I’ve sold loads of different things, but mainly music CDs. In my experience, the way to really maximise your chances of getting good loot is to open your auction out to the global community. Sadly, this can lead to delays and complications for both parties, because cash payments take a long time to arrive. For my latest batch of auctions – some 500 in total – I decided ...
...within my auctions, if I wanted to reduce the grief for everyone concerned. One of the most popular and well-known virtual banking facilities is managed via www.paypal.com. I’d seen the payment method advertised some time ago, but when I originally tried to sign up, I found that I needed a bank account in the USA. Fortunately, this is no longer the case and Paypal has literally revolutionised the end to end auction process. REGISTRATION AND STUFF ...

I WANT MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW.

Advantages: Swift transfer of money from one end of the world to the other.
Disadvantages: charges.

I like Paypal. There are those who argue against it because of the charges that they levy for their services, but for me, it is a swift way of getting money from A to B, and if I have to pay a little for the use of their services, I really do not mind very much. WHAT IS PAYPAL ? Well its a secure way of getting money from A to B. Suppose for example, you want to sell something on Ebay (one of the auction sites on the internet). People place bids ...
...the persons address and details of how much the postage costs, and doing everything by email and then post is not only longwinded but you can wait so long that you actually forget what you sold to whom !! Yes, of course, your ebay account keeps details, but when you have a memory like mine, I can never remember if I have billed someone or not, and sometimes your personal page on Ebay is a little slow to track things and I lose my way. Paypal is ...

Pay anybody with an email address

Advantages: Fast and trustworthy, reduce bank commission charges
Disadvantages: Site can be slow loading

If like me, you spend a lot of buying and selling at auctions, or have a website where you want to sell to folks worldwide, sending and receiving payments overseas can be a nightmare! Banks and Building Societies can charge you a fortune in commission for converting cheques into sterling (and vice versa) and you can lose a lot of profit. An alternative is PayPal, a simple and reliable way to send money to any email address in the world and accruing ...
...now take advantage of this useful means of sending and receiving cash anywhere in the world. It’s also a boon if you sign up to lots of ‘get paid’ schemes on the Internet, as more and more are now offering PayPal as an alternative payment method. No more hefty commission charges! UK subscribers can register a credit card or bank checking account at PayPal and have funds transferred directly from and to them. It’s very easy, ...

Disadvantages: You have to pay a small fee to have a check cut, and some people might inadvertently believe that this site is one hundred percent secure.

Faster Ebay transactions with Paypal

Advantages: Quick, secure, easy
Disadvantages: Small charge made

As you know I have recently opened a shop on Ebay selling watches and clocks – the shop address is on my Ciao home page if you’re interested. I had quite a few overseas bidders ask if I used any of the automated payment sites and I had to say ‘no’ and request cheques including an extra £5 costs so that they could be converted back to sterling by my bank. Clearly this isn’t a good idea and, if wanted my shop to be a success, I needed to sort out ...
...the items that they had won. I decided to go for Paypal for two reasons – firstly I read some of the opinions here on Ciao and it sounded good, and secondly that Ebay have just taken over Paypal and so logically it must be the ideal choice for proceeds of Ebay auctions. Easy Registration To register with Paypal is a piece of cake! They ask for the basic information of name, address, telephone number and your preferred currency. Obviously my preferred ...

Advantages: ideal for online auctioneers, many uses
Disadvantages: only in US $

Right this is for all of you who buy and sell in Internet auctions - or take part in any of the Web rewards programs - Pay to Surf, read email etc etc. Paypal is a MUST ! Well, Paypal is a long established and highly reputable system whereby people ...

Advantages: Easy to receive and send money from anywhere in the world, Security

Pay Pal is one of the easiest and safest way to transact your online purchases and expenditure. At present there are over 9 million Pay Pal users worldwide (in 36 countries) and the number is increasing rapidly. The company is American based and are completely open to International members. Everyday crooks are finding ways to beat the security systems. In may case I have only used my Credit card twice on the Internet and for those two transactions I made sure that I checked out the security policy and system, that the sites in question were using. Many a time ...

Pay your pals for goods.

Advantages: Easy to use, free to join, simple to verify account.

Nice idea, shame about reality.

Advantages: great in theory
Disadvantages: not so great in practice

The premise behind paypal is both simple and appealing: The internet is a slightly scary place to shop, so rather than risking giving your credit card details out online, you set up a paypal acocunt and shift money through there - they deal with the companies, you get added piece of mind and everything is joyous. Better yet, you can send money to people, demand money from people, all at no cost. Furthermore, reward sites can reward you, shifting ...

Paypal offers three kinds of service - Basic, free service (allows you to accept money from other paypal accounts, and to buy online using your paypal account)It costs $1.95 to set up - a fee they extract to check out the validity of your credit/debit card, and which you should get back eventually. You can use this account to shop online, but you can't accept payments from credit cards, which can be a ...

PayPal Rant #23

Advantages: Fast and simple transactions, can attract more eBay custom
Disadvantages: Hidden charges can prove very expensive, terms and conditions are often vague

PayPal has always meant "no cheques needed" to me, someone who must have spent at least a thirtieth of his life on eBay and who is sick of licking those thin, long envelopes. When I received my 'proper' debit card from the bank on turning 18 I went straight to it, and began to build up a considerable balance through selling things on eBay. But now, this has ceased... read on to discover the terrible secrets of PayPal.com... The acquisition by eBay ...
...into the auction webite, perhaps a little too prominent for non-users, but at least it's very easy to list items under PayPal to make them more appealing to buyers who really, really don't like cheque hassle. As PayPal requires one's credit or debit card to go on file, I still use it to pay for eBay items directly from my bank as this is faster for me. My major problem with PayPal, although I'm sure this would become secondary if my account were ...

PayPal your friendly bank account

Advantages: Collects money owed to you
Disadvantages: Payment in U.S. Dollars, Need an account which allows $ transfers.

A lot of new internet sites are springing up especially in the U.S. and most of them allow U.K. members to collect rewards, especially "Paid to Click" and Paid e-mail sites, however with most of them the pay out can be very small, around 50c to $2 a month each, payment being in U.S. currency, a lot of them also have a minimum payment varying from around $15 to as much as $100, this obviously can take a long time to collect, indeed with the earnings ...
...take me over 100 years to collect the minimum amount. Recently however, a number of sites offered to pay out using PayPal and very recently I found two sites, Webearners and Dealerz who not only will pay monthly, but both have no minimum payment, so what you earn is what you get (both pay out 30 days after you have earned the money). PayPal itself is an American Company and allows international members to join, It is not quite a bank, but acts in ...

Paypal Sucks

Advantages: Convenient way to send payments via the Internet
Disadvantages: Poor customer service when things go wrong

Paypal can be a wonderful way to send and receive money securely and anybody who uses it will agree. It is easy to do transactions and you are always emailed a copy of your transaction be it money going out or in. This is where the praise ends!!!!!! Firstly Paypal is not a bank it is a company who handles online secure payments and is therefore not governed by the same rules or regulations of banking institutions For those who are not familiar ...
...strongly suggest that you read them in full as sometimes what is said in those terms and conditions are not all they seem to be. Paypal is owned by Ebay and all sellers are now being encouraged and sometimes forced to use their facilities. If you are using Paypal to buy things on Ebay then it can be quite safe and I have bought many items without anything going wrong. The pitfalls mainly fall to the sellers and there are many. 1 If a seller sells ...

If use paypal, read this now

Advantages: quick way to pay for tings, especially ebay
Disadvantages: no protection for sellers, seem to deliberatley want to screw you over

Paypal for those that don't know is essentially a way to pay people over the internet by debit/credit cards. As long as they have an email address they can receive money. All good in theory as may not want to wait for check to clear or may have difficulties paying with cash etc. Main use for me is paying for items purchased on ebay. As pay instantly item is sent quicker as no waiting for cheques to clear etc. All was fine until I just sold a mobile ...

Now if I had received a cheque I would have waited ...

Cash In with PAYPAL

Advantages: Fast Secure Deposits and Withdrawals (Now to UK Banks)
Disadvantages: Not enough Casinos use it at present, Access can be slow at times , possibly due to the site being busy at the US peak period

I gamble in a small way at online casinos, my tactics have been to cash in when my account showed $100+ balance. However some casinos will charge $25 to send a cheque, taking up to six weeks to arrive from the USA to the UK, and then my bank was charging $15 (£10) to cash it, leaving me with $60 (£40). I was starting to wonder if it was worth the hassle, considering I was leaving my credit card details with lots of different Casinos mainly in the ...
