Advantages Advantages Clear & simple, lots of product info.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Just about everything else.

Likes – not a lot Dislikes – just about everything For starters I don't like "intro"s that build character by character – either give it to me straight there, in my face or don’t bother. And the woman! Why? And she doesn’t disappear if you “skip intro”. To be fair in the review, I took the time to read the first page, but all the time she’s there, this woman with no name, no purpose, no point. Catalogue – just a click and I have to identify myself as “general public” or “trader”. Then select “hardware” or “software”. Tedious! By this stage I’m already bored. Yes, navigation is fairly easy but ... more

Advantages Advantages Reasonable product descriptions and pricing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tedious navigation, Limited range of stock

Pccrazy drove me crazy with its S...L...O...W navigation. With sites as bad as this, there isn't so much point in paying for broadband access. On the plus side, the product descriptions were helpfull and the prices not too bad - except for the delivery charges. I decided to try using this site as if I was putting together a general-purpose home PC based around a mid-price Athlon on a good quality mainboard with plenty of memory (512 Mb) and two decent (60 to 80 Gb) hard drives. A DVD reader, CD rewriter, floppy drive and CF card reader would complete the spec. I managed to find most of the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Can't see any.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying homepage, poor design, no company information and many more.

Honestly, what is this? I don't like "intro"s as they call it but this turned to a nightmare. I clicked "skip intro" hoping that she will dissappear but no avail. Since I was determined to review the website, I spent some time on the first page reading the information about it and please webmaster, if you ever read this, please please remove that woman from the homepage, she looks right in to you...And she "zooms in" everytime you turn to homepage. Increadibly annoying. About the website... Good intentions, poor design. Navigation is fairly easy but overall appearance of menus and buttons are ... more

Advantages Advantages items easy to find, catches attention

    Disadvantages Disadvantages confusing, amateuristic, expensive

When I entered the URL in my browser, the page loaded very quickly and it caught my attention immediately. Although I didn't really see the rationale of putting a women staring intensely at you on the first page, I was very interested to browse through their catalogue. First of all the stated purpose of the site: PC upgrade. This purpose surely limits the number of products you expect to find on the site. My first reaction was that you would only be able to get actual PC upgrade items such as memory, disk drives etc. However the catalogue contains many more items/peripherals than you would ... more

Advantages Advantages Large Catalogue of goods & helpful hints

Disadvantages Disadvantages site can be slow at loading at times

PCCrazy.co.uk specialises in upgrading peoples PC's, and gives them friendly advice on using software. There is also an online shop where you can buy goods online. Although it tends to be slow to load at times due to its Flash content, however its worth the wait. The 'Tips & Tricks' link which can be found at the bottom of the frame gives some sound advice on overcoming the little nagging problems you may have using Microsoft Word/Powerpoint or the Internet. If you use this site then visiting this section is a must, speaking as an experienced PC user I wouldn't have thought that this section ... more

Advantages Advantages Easily navigable, Pages quick to load, Product illustrations.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Frames reduce 'working area' of the browser window, too many pages of links.

When first arriving at this site I was struck by the way the top and bottom frames significantly reduce the 'working area' of the window. The Intro is a site description that I didn't find too annoying. The female featured has a somewhat 'challenging' expression and is not particularly welcoming. Maybe if she was smiling??? There are navigation buttons in the top frame and text links at the bottom. On clicking the link for the 'Catalogue' I was taken to a link page where I was asked to select between 'General Public' and 'Trade Accounts'. On selecting General Public I went to another link page ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to navigate, clear discriptions

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pointless Intro, Just not interesting.

The site starts downloading immediately, even on a standard 56k modem. Then the drudgery begins. An intro is tagged on to the start of the homepage, and it just doesnt cut it. Flashy, but not required. Some prices are competetive, others are definately not. The point here being that the real bargains are not highlighted as such. eg "special deal" etc. There are many plus points though, such as the effort made to explain and describe each product fully. Very commendable. The products are grouped into specific fields, and on arriving at your chosen product list you have a well laid out page ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to find what you want

Disadvantages Disadvantages quite tedious and poor layout

Anyone using this site will presumably be intending to buy computer hardware or software - unfortunately there is precious little encouragement here to actually make you part with your hard earned cash and I think most people will get bored and move on to another site about 5 seconds into the intro. Not only is the picture of the woman irritating (and really quite pointless) but the wording is all too small and there is too much of it - we've got lives to get on with. The design of the catalogue is simple but tedious - most people just want to specifiy which type of product they want and then ... more

Advantages Advantages Straightforward, pages download speedily.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Delivery charges rather high? No Reviews at present.

I have to confess I approached this website with some trepidation. I expected a dull, boring, unhelpful site, so I was surprised to find that I did not dislike what I found. True, the Home page has a rather forbidding, if stylishly attractive, female face that glares at one Miss Whiplash fashion, but if you can tear your eyes away from her as easily as I did, then the information loads quickly . We are told that pccrazy.co.uk is a useful PC upgrade site and this is correct. They offer "a huge data base of equipment" ; equally correct. There is an online catalogue, reviews, and tips and tricks ... more

Advantages Advantages User friendly web site and orders processed quickly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Many items considerably cheaper elsewhere.

While the site itself is very easy to use and orders with them are processed rapidly, there are several limiting factors. Several of the common items I was after were not available on the site, this is not to say they do not have a comprehensive range of goods, most user needs for PC upgrades can be found. It is only specific items, a specific graphics card and audio card, in my case that they did not stock. The web site is extremely easy to navigate, quick to load and user friendly. It shows pictures of all the items along with a brief description whic hmakes identifying the required product ... more
