Thanks to Ciao and peoples feedback I have able to put my terrible experience with another PC supplier behind me. PC Option have a good link to hear from theri website and I hop emy experience with PC Option helps. I have had the pc for about a week now, and have been able to test it fully. It was well packaged and came with all wires and cables and driver cds. All manuals and software I had ordered was included too. Cabling inside the pc was very neat and tidy ! The PC when started had everything all loaded onto it, all drivers and vista was running smoothly and set up in my name. I was very ... more

Advantages Advantages Attractive range of Media PCs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Appalling customer service, don't keep their promises nor refund where due

Like many Ciao users, I read the positive feedback here and thought that this was genuinely a decent business to buy a customised media PC from. Their website was knowledgeable with sensible terms and conditions and a 3-year warranty. I also used their online chat service and got comprehensive answers. So far so good. I placed an order in mid August (and was told 7-10 days for delivery). After multiple chase calls and emails, I received it mid-October. Their staff turnover seemed horrific as you'd speak to someone on one day and they'd no longer be working there the week after. After only a ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent customer service & prices are fantastic -

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

I have recently purchased our 3rd office PC from www.pcoption.co.uk I was speaking to the guys today at www.pcoption.co.uk and I have offered my review to help promote their business. So here it is. In April 2004 I purchased our first office PC from PC Option. I recall their website at the time. It was very easy to navigate but was not the best designed. I suppose they were just starting out so I can't complain. The PC system purchase at the time was "risky". I had only ever heard bad reviews about buying online and I was concerned the product would not be what's advertised on screen etc. I ... more

Advantages Advantages sales team helpful & customer service is great

    Disadvantages Disadvantages mmmm none yet

What more can I say that hasn't been said before? This was my first custom system, and only my third PC, do obviously I was worried about ordering online. After 6 months of research and a little agonising over components, I threw a quote together and decided that I'd found what I was looking for. I contacted the sales team and picked up a few tips about my build, they couldn't have been more helpful, and what's more, you're talking to actual employees, not just a call centre. After making my order I was kept well informed about it's progress, my emails being answered very quickly and helpfully ... more

Advantages Advantages good value products, reliable company, customised product service

Disadvantages Disadvantages tracking info worryingly sparse, a bit slow

This is an exact description of my shopping experience with PcOption - draw your own conclusions from it.... I needed a replacement base unit running Windows XP on it. After some research and recommendations I found the PcOptions site, which is very clear and easy to navigate. The description of their products and the specification options together with the pricing for your custom-made PC are absolutely clear. After choosing the specifiations for my required machine, I ordered the base unit on 15th October 2008. I immediately received a confirmation e-mail from them and a link to track my ... more

Advantages Advantages Very cheap prices - good comms - easy to contact

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all!

Hi Everyone, I have decided to write a final review on www.pcoption.co.uk due to lack of information on this company on the net before i bought from them just over a week ago. I found the company on google whilst searching for base units as this is what i wanted, I went to the page and found a lovely looking website which was simple and proffesional. This simplicity was also carried on through navigation of the site, customising the pc i wanted and the quick and easy ordering process. I was able to either ring or talk to people at the company on their live chat section in the top right hand ... more

Advantages Advantages Price, delivery time & qulaity workmanship

Disadvantages Disadvantages Website design and layout

Order & Delivery I ordered a custom build from PCOption on a Tuesday afternoon, selecting the 7-10 day dispatch (build time option), as I needed the PC quickly; my system arrived the following Friday afternoon. The website and configurators could definitely be improved upon; a live/per-component price calculation during selection would be good, and more could be done to improve the presentation and attractiveness of the site's design, but it's the product and service that matters most. Packaging & Build The system arrived very well packaged and protected (in a very strong, rather huge box) ... more

PC Option - www.pcoption.co.uk As a student doing a multimedia course i need a pc with fairly good specs and decided to buy a custom build. I read through these forums when searching for the "right" place. I looked at all of the companies big/small on the web and set myself a budget of around £600-£700 for the base unit. I finally decided to go ahead with PCoption. The prices are very very good, much better than evesham, mesh, scan etc. I ordered a base unit with the following specs... Gamers Base Unit. Nvidia 8800. Intel® Core® 2 Duo. (6750 (2.66GHz 4MB, 1333FSB) , Standard Case , Samsung 18 ... more

Advantages Advantages Very good pre-sales support Excellent Value!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of - Not speedy BUT they don't just rush out untested systems.

I too, would like to offer some feedback on my experience of buying a new computer from PC Option. Having had a previously poor experience of buying my last computer from an internet dealer I was a little wary of doing the same thing again. I researched several custom build computer companies - big and small until I hit a recommendation on a PC Advisor Forum where I came upon the name Tom Muir who seemed genuinely keen to meet customer's requirements and expectations whilst being realistic and honest enough to admit that things don't always go to plan and that problems sometimes need sorting ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Mr T Muir - his attitude is diabolical.

Having read numerous bad posts and having dealt with them myself and wishing to all deities that I hadn't I ask Mr Muir to explain why he thinks it appropriate to respond to polite and legitimate emails with profanity? Mr Editor this can be evidenced in case you want to see it. My story is shocking - spent a small fortune on a state of the art pc (well supposed to be) never worked from the minute I got it, despite going back twice and Mr Muir begging me to remove my legitimate opinions I am still with a PC that I cannot get to work. In fairness after the last return a few months back personal ... more
