QXL IS NOT GETTING MUCH VISITORS ANYMORE I THINK THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUISNESS. I HAVE NOT USED QXL FOR A YEAR I PREFER EBAY.CO.UK OR THEFASTBID.COM I HAVE NEVER REALLY LIKED QXL. I like qxls design but also with ebay i don't think the sites should charge so much for listing especaily ebay they charge so much when they don't need to they have loads of customers and don't need to have there fees as high as they do same with qxl. Advantages: things can be cheeper, not as much compatition as others Disadvantages: none
i always used a certian aution site and was very septical of trying any other auction site. when someone told me about QXL i thought it could never be as good the others. yes i was right in some ways there aint as many choices or virety as some other auction sites but at least the prices are cheep and there is not as much compition. so far every bid that i have put in has always won, it even has an over 18 section that seems to be very popular with ...

Hello All.
After reading many of the reviews members have written about QXL I felt compelled to write my own review.
As many people have said, the site is really easy to use. Every thing is well set out and there are great bargins to be had.
Another plus side of it is that there arn't many people on there so you are more likely to get what you want at a price you want to pay. Not so good for sellers though, many items I listed struggled to sell.
... ...on QXL and a few weeks ago I would be singing there praises, now I feel the opposite.
My experience in the last two weeks has caused me nothing but worry concern and sleep less nights.
Firstly I will start by saying under normal circumstances QXL is an extremely safe place to trade, and I agree in most respects with the literature on the site. As a safety measure QXL post your seller activation code to you to verify who you are. If you want to ...

Advantages: Cheaper than ebay, not so many 'rubbish' auctions Disadvantages: Not huge amounts of traffic at the moment
QXL has gone through a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the past few months. Originally free to list making it more attractive to a lot of sellers than Ebay, the decision to start charging listing fees meant a lot of well established buyers moved away or at least stopped listing.
The lack of available items then meant buying traffic started to dry up as well.
But that now all seems to changing....
The listing fees remain (cheaper than Ebay) but ...

Advantages: simple layout Disadvantages: buyers guarantee inferior to e-bay
Bought an item from QXL auction. Nokia mobile phone, Item did NOT arrive, ripped off by £165
The seller had "sold" 9 items previously, but had no feedback, +ve or -ve.
On that basis QXL offer NO guarantee, whereas under these circumstances e-bay would have refunded me £120.
So, beware who you are buying from & that QXL does NOT offer the same level of protection as e-bay.
Matter refered to the Police, but QXL took about 6 days to reply to my ...

Advantages: sell your unused items Disadvantages: see review
Online auctions have become extremely popular with sites such as Ebay, Ebid and QXL all springing up to allow you to the items you no longer have use for. Ebay is probably the ‘grand father’ and best known of the auction sites, and indeed is worldwide. There are differences between Ebay and QXL which penetrate deeper than the surface colour of the site.
So what can you sell on QXL?
Basically anything, from DVD’s and video to Antiques and arts to ... ...section of the site which concentrates on things that you’d expect of an over eighteen site again with things such as DVD’s, Videos, Toys etc.
Buying on QXL is free for everyone though you do need to register to buy which is the normal registration of auction sites. Sellers however pay a fee, which is cheaper than Ebay and is as follows:
Item cost £0 to £0.99p you pay a listing fee of 5p or 15p on Ebay
Item cost £1 to £4.99p you pay a listing ...

Advantages: Very Easy To Use Disadvantages: There are some small prints
...been a member of the QXL.com community for over a year now, and would like to share some of my experiences with you so that if you choose to bid in an auction on this site, you know what to expect.
Firstly, I will start by saying that I trust QXL.
I registered, but chose not to include my credit card details first of all, for obvious reasons.
I started by bidding in some smaller auctions, not always successfully at first because I was worried ... ...I started to tinker around a bit, and use things like "Maximum Bid". This is something where you bid for an item at the price now, but if somebody then bids higher than you, your maximum bid automatically increases to whatever you set it at to try and keep you in front of your competition. This is a very useful, and easy to use feature.
QXL are very quick to send email confirmations of your bid, and if you request it, you can also get SMS messages.

Advantages: Find Great Bargains, Easy to Navigate, Cheaper Than Ebay, Good Fun Disadvantages: None
...and in particular QXL.com.
QXL.com is an orange and white coloured auction site that allows people to either immediately sell or auction goods that are new, used, antique, collectable, broken or even useless. REGISTRATION
In order to sell on the site you will first need to register. This will entail the usual registration medley we have all grown to know and love (!) such as name, address, email details and the like, but you will also be required ... ...own. QXL takes nearly all UK debit and credit cards, even Solo and Visa Electron.
This is to ensure that people who register onto the site can be traceable, puts off dishonest people from the site and means that fees incurred on the site can be paid easily and without fuss through your chosen card.
Once this is done, QXL will send you a confirmation email, which will basically confirm you as a member of the site and will also show your log on details ...

Advantages: Great bargains to be had Disadvantages: None
I’ve always been a fan of auctions as you can pick up some real bargains, and I’m always buying stuff online, as it cuts out the hassle of shopping of which I’m not a lover. So when a mate of mine recommended QXL I thought I’d give it a go. QXL is an online auction in which anyone can sell anything (anything legal that is!!!!). Sellers are both individuals and companys so there is a wide range of new and used products available.

The reason for this is that they charge you listing fee of 30p when the auction closes and to make sure you a legitimate seller. You can then create an auction. You are taken through step by step where you have to the following:
a title for the auction (something eye-catching)
the categories you want your product to appear in

Advantages: Get good stuff at cheaper prices! Disadvantages: Need to be aware of who you are buying from!
Hello all,
It's been a long time since I last wrote an op. Think that was something to do with being told to get the hell of the Internet when I'm at work!!
Well, here I am going against my employers just to bring this news to you all!! Okay then! www.qxl.com what can I say.
The site itself is well presented and very well organised. It is easy to find what you are looking for. The site caters from the .Net password facilitiy (which I do NOT trust ... ...most unreliable feature as you seem to have to log in several times in one session. The point of the site is simply. People auction off their 'stuff' and other people surf on and buy their 'stuff'. You simply bid for the items you want. A nice little feature of qxl is the maximum bid option whereby you can bid say £5 for an item and set your max. bid to £10. This way if someone outbids you then you will automatically 'out-bid' them!
You can also ...

Advantages: The finest auction site Disadvantages: Are there any ?
I have been using QXL for around 6 months now. I started selling pc games, and got very good prices and very quick responses. The QXL site has been improving all the time - additions like LIVE auctions and the 'buy now' feature (enabling buyers to immediately bid and win) have turned QXL into a class act.
The site is seemingly growing daily. There are great bargains to be had, especially in the consumer electronics and telecommunications departments.
... ...out. It is clear, easy to understand and logically laid out. The actual Auction tools are very powerful, and all of the standard definable settings are in place. I have never had any problems with any of my dealings with QXLers. All auctions proceed smoothly with maximum efficiency and speed.
Having looked at EBAY, I feel that QXL is far superior - in both design and ease of use. ...

Advantages: It's fun, and you may even get that item you have allways wanted for next to nothing Disadvantages: You could get carried way when bidding and pay more for the item you want than buying it from the shops
QXL online auctions are improving daily. There is also what they call live auctions where everybody bids in real time. They have also been involved directly with Microsoft and are using some of the latest software tech in their web site.
Also the new windows XP includes a link to this site.
You can buy and sell on the site. I have only bought. I not sure of the cost to sell but you first 3 sales are free.
They have also created a new feature that ... ...before the end of the auction. This is good for those items you have always waited, or just cant wait to buy.
I have brought lots a things from this web site, computer games watches cloths. You can now even bid on brand new cars. I have manly bought from companies, only once from an individual. I have not had any problems with receiving the goods. I prefer company’s that I can pay by the credit card that I have registered with QXL and this saves ...
