    reed.co.uk is a great online agency web site that offers thousands of jobs in hundreds of sectors. The site has well over forty thousand recruiters so there is no drought of vacancies. The web site is well designed and very professional and the features of the web site are amazing and I've covered them in more detail later on in this review.     Currently looking for a new job I gained a lot of experience with online job sites. Therefore I would like to give you some details about www.reed.co.uk in this opinion. How to use the site? The most easiest way to work with reed is to subscribe to the service, means you choose a username and a password and simply login each time to enter the page.     Reed Online is a non-centralised recruitment agency with online and offline presence. The office for say New Media may be in Richmond and the Marketing & Sales will be in the City somewhere. This has actually led to some confusion. - more later. The site design is lovely with very easy to use drop down menus and side bar navigation buttons to career the prospective job seeker to his required industry. The search engine is really powerful and can be filtered down to location, keywords, wage etc. The site loks better in I.E than Netscape. Jobseekers can submit their CV and hope for the best.     I tried reed.co.uk after seeing some advertising for them. I was unhappy in my current job and wanted to move on to something new, and this seemed a good way of doing so. It was easy enough to fill in details and upload my CV, and I sat back and waited to see what reed.co.uk would find for me. Sadly my experience with reed.co.uk hasn't been a positive one. To their credit they were the only job site I registered with (and I tried several) who actually called you on the phone with jobs they thought you might be interested in.     Reed.co.uk is my favourite of the recruitment websites out there, the fact they offer a free service to agencies to advertise there positions on the website via the FreeCruit section means there is a constantly updated list of vacancies! The service from the website itself is very fast and throws out exactly what you ask from the searches, searching itself is very easy. On the left hand side of the main screen is drop down boxes where you can pick the various search criterias, and when you've found them, if your registered all you have to do is click 'apply online' and if your registered it ... more

    I tried to approach various vacancies, which were available on the reed.co.uk web site recently but with no success. I was quite happy and satisfied when I saw the search engines and the numerous positions advertised but whenever I decided to apply sending my CV online via the reed system everything was not working. I received a few e-mails from Reed partner agencies asking me to resend my CV as the Reed online CV bank services are not in service.     I registered with the Reed graduates about a year ago now after I was recommended the website from my university careers service. Since then I have searched for graduate and non graduate jobs on a regular basis and guess what???? they have exactly the kind of jobs that am looking for. They may have the type of jobs that I am looking for but I have never ever got a response from any of the jobs I have applied for. I can understand that there are most probably people who meet the job criteria closer then I do and therefore I am not contacted. However I have never been contacted by a Reed ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very few if any.

    I joined this web site about 5 months ago to look for a job. I also joined numerous other web sites. Although not perfect and needing some improvements in my opinion, I have found reed.co.uk to be the best of the job web sites that I have used. There are two reasons for this; firstly you can filter out all employment agency advertised jobs and only get results of jobs advertised direct by employers. In the current very tough job market I believe this is a very important option to have because in general if you apply to an agency you are very unlikely to be offered an interview unless you fit ... more

    I was recently surfing the recruitment agencies online and had a go with Reed as I've temped with them in the past. The web site itself is easy to use, and you can search using geographical, occupational and salary criteria, and also whether or not you're looking for graduate jobs. I'm not sure whether or not their online is in synch with their local branches, but even looking for IT jobs I could barely find any for Scotland, and definitely not for the north of Scotland.     "Let the job finds you", this is their slogan in television advertisement. I know this site from TV. I am not actually looking for jobs. I just registered for future use. I am now currently doing my PhD studies in Southampton University. I like this site (although I haven't really gone through any interviews with the jobs that recommended by reed.co.uk). Why? Perhaps I have been fed up by other online recruitment sites, which I have to browse all the job titles, benefits, features and so on, investigate them one by one.
