Advantages Advantages A lot of useful information on a wide range of topics

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite slow to load and not as in-depth as it could be in places

Okay - I have giant, big and ugly exams coming up (again) and as I leave my revision and catching up to the last moment I wonder what on earth is gonna get me outta this one (except for a gun and some sellotape of course!)..... *Gulp* Okay, so in a desperate plea for enlightenment I searched the web - day and night I was hammering away on those keys and my poor mouse was exhausted (to say the least) when I finally stumbled upon what could possibly have been the answer to all my questions.... So there it was - S-Cool.co.uk staring me in the face and promising me that it could help me through my ... more

Advantages Advantages Sound revision tips, great content, and career advice

Disadvantages Disadvantages No GCSE practice tests.

Ok I lied, school is not cool. To be honest it's boring, tedious and mind-numbingly dull. The same goes for revision. Who wants to be stuck in the house revising, when you could be doing more interesting things. Having said all this, the fact is that without good grades, you stand no chance what so ever, of going to college, or university, and pursing your dream career. Basically what I'm saying is that revision, is a must if you want to make the grade. We should consider ourselves lucky, you know, out parents had to be content with pouring over hard-backed textbooks. But we have access to the ... more

At the moment, I am revising for my modular exams that I have in January. I decided I deserve a (short!) break and since I'm busy using this website I decided I would write a review. I discovered this website when I was revising for my GCSE's and was glad to find that it has AS and A level revision material. The site is colourful and attractive. It is split into seven sections. 1. GCSE revision The subjects that are covered are: Biology; Chemistry; English; Food Technology; French; Geography; German; Maths; PE and Physics. I used a lot of these subjects areas last year and found they were ... more

Advantages Advantages Useful notes, Discussion Boards, Cool!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This site has got it all, first of all it helped me so much with my recent A-level exams, especially the biology revision notes, they were detailed, but not over detailed and only gave you the information that you need in simple ways that is easy to understand. It incorporates diagrams into the notes to break the text up and you are allowed t print it out. Which is a lot of help so you don't have your parents shouting at you to get off the internet! There are also other features on the website, some brilliant information about student banking which I found very useful to pick a bank for when I ... more

Advantages Advantages Great subject base at GCSE and A-level standard, integrated forums divided into subject areas.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of some sides to subjects. For example the lack of Mechanics in the maths sections. Sometimes overly brief explanations of theories.

Lets face it, revision is quite frankly dull. You often sit down stare at notes (often containing more old messages to the person next to you, than lesson notes), then you get into a state about the exams. What are you going to do? There are many different web-sites out there billing themselves as the best. Many of them are alot more highly advertised, but this doesn't make them the best. S-cool not only has the essential notes on most GCSE courses, but I myself found the A-level notes very useful. I also found it useful as a reference guide through my course. The best feature I find though is ... more
