I while ago, a few emails were coming into my in-box from "shagmail", and I thought, huh?, but ignored them and just deleted. Although then, more and more started to arrive, until there were about 40 different e-mails coming per day. I realised that someone had signed me up to email newsletters. OK, well you would have thought that you could just op-out of them or they should at least have to be confirmed by you, before they start to flood in. So ...
...the end. You need to unsubscribe yo each type of newsletter individually, which would take hours. So this has forced me to change my email address. I went to their site, and you see how very easy it is for someone to start to spam you, because you just check boxes for what type of mails you want, all a spammer needs to do is check all the boxes, and fill in your email address, all of these emails need no confirmation or anything. This is a means of advertising through e-mail. You specify what type of e-mails you would like to recieve, eg. jokes, motoring, cookery, news etc; and on each e-mail is a sponsor's name and link to its web site along with a small advertisement. It is totaly free, as costs are covered by the sponsor. The standard of jokes/news/information is pretty good, though I have never been to one of the sponsors sites to know if they are any good.
