    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't see it lasting, no community.

    www.smartstudents.co.uk is a site basically designed for and aimed at students, however underneath its University mask lies an added attraction, there are numerous categories available and once into these you will find reviews, reviews submitted by people like you and me, nothing out of the ordinary you cry, well the difference here is that smartstudents is not for only students but anyone can join and the £5 per opinion accepted is enough to tempt anyone, interested yet?     Yet another website that claims to pay you.... except, unlike most, they actually mean it! Ok, well maybe they don't pay you, i'm not sure whether they do or not seen as i've only recently signed up to this website. By the looks of it thought they're going to pay me to write opinions [remind you of somewhere?!] And, d'ya wanna know the best bit? [that means, tough because i'm going to tell you!] they pay you £5 for every opinion that gets published to the website. £5! Wow, now that is generous!     Advantages Advantages £5 per work published, more money earnt and a good idea

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes time to add work, and I'm a bit fed up of cutting and pasting

    Well at least I fit into one of the above categories. I am still in education, so therefore I am a student. One of the ways I try to earn a little extra money as a poor student is write opinions for things like ciao or dooyoo. The prospect of earning £5, that’s five pounds per opinion posted on smart students appealed to me for some reason. I joined a few weeks back, though a few ciao opinions that I later read made me go active and actually start submitting work to them. Now here is my opinion on them.     These opinion-writing web sites are a funny old lot. If you’re an expert and an enthusiast, you could probably cut and paste your work into at least a dozen sites, and scrape a few quid off each whilst you’re at it. I tend to stick with Ciao, because I think they’ve got it right, but I have dabbled here and there in Dooyoo (yuk!), Bigrag (not bad) and most recently smartstudents.co.uk.     ~ ~ This site first made its appearance on the Web at the back end of last year, (2001) and having heard on the “opinionated community” gossip grapevine that they were paying £5 per opinion posted, I was naturally enough tempted to go and have a look at what it was all about. Especially as Ciao (and dooyoo) had both cut their payment rates about this time, and it was becoming harder and harder for me to make enough earnings to cover the cost of my Internet connection.     Advantages Advantages A nice little earner for students who enjoy writing and passing on useful information.

    This site is an absolute must for uk students, not only does it provide a wealth of useful information written by students, for students it pays well - £5 per review! If only Ciao were as generous. The idea is similar to Caio in that it invites reviews on everything related to student life and universities, from sports to health to food and accommodation. My son, who as I mentioned in a previous review is at Exeter University, is a regular reviewer on the site, writing about his university, gigs he's been to, cd's he's bought and the local pubs and clubs he's visited.     If you are a student you may want to know about this site. Smartstudents.co.uk is a new site on the web particularly for students all over the country. So far it looks great although I won’t know until the cheque arrives through my letterbox. I’m hoping it will anyway although as yet I have not heard from anyone who has got paid. Smartstudents is another way of earning money. In fact it seems quite a good way of making money. Write one review and earn yourself £5. That’s right one review for £5. You can write about your university, your local area and other things like music and films. I have ... more

    And so another candidate in the 'Make a fortune online' stakes comes to the fore, leaving us feeling untouched by its attraction. SmartStudents - http://www.smartstudents.co.uk - is another opinion writing site, just like BigRag, Dooyoo and Ciao which on the one hand looks extremely profitable, but on the other is garishly repulsive looking, totally devoid of any community feeling and quite hard work, all things considered.     Advantages Advantages Useful for prospective and current students - giving details on each university's positives and negatives.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Some unis are reviewed better than others

    Smartstudents has proved to be one of the top websites aimed at UK students, thanks to the breadth and depth of information that it provides. I came across the site quite by accident a few months ago and have found myself visiting it every fortnight or so during term time, to keep abreast of the latest goings-on around my university. Every university in the UK is covered by the site, with detailed information provided on the events taking place and facilities available.     Again this is another way of making money online but this mainly directed at students although you don't have to be a student to join. I first heard of this site from a friend and couldn't believe when I heard they paid you £5 a review, I thought to myself surely this has to be some joke. I went on the website and submitted a review, I was told to many people had written it and so they would keep it and maybe get back to me if they wanted it, this carried on for a while I was about to give up when finally I got an email saying that I had a review which had been accepted, I had £5.
