    Advantages Advantages actually pays, nice surfbar, also earn by signing up offers, do pay

    Disadvantages Disadvantages naughty naughty - cancel members accounts, surfbar doesn't count accurately

    Spedia.net are one of the oldest 'Paid to Surf' bars still in existence - but iit is the company everyone loves to hate. Why? Well they have a habit of cancelling users' accounts - just because they are due to get a cheque. Customer service is non existent - just try emailing them and see how long it takes. The Spedia Bar is notoriously 'glitchy', never counting your full time on line despite it telling you that you hsave to actively surf - i.e not stay on the same web page for more than one minute. Do that and the bar still fails to record your full time. After you've got 15 points it stops ... more

    Although I have not yet reached the payment threshold, I have been assured that Spedia do indeed pay for surfing. This is a US based company, unlike alladvantage (who used to pay in sterling) it pays in US Dollars, but then at least it still pays. About the surfbar... I have joined and downloaded the surfbar. The bar is a basic one slightly smaller than some others, although I have found on occasions it can slow down the computer, but that is not really an inconvenience.     LATEST UPDATE: 16/09/2001 Oh well, as I thought, it is now a month later and still no cheque, so I am now wholeheartedly NOT recommending "Spedia.net", they are nothing but a con, they DO NOT payout, as you can see in my original update, I had requested my cheque FIVE MONTHS ago and have not received it. ----------------------------------------​------------------------- FURTHER UPDATE: 12/08/2001 Oh well, having requested my cheque, for just over $50 at the beginning of May, you may wish to know, I have yet to receive it!     I first joined spedia.net over two years ago, when I also joined about 10 other get "paid" to surf junk programs. But, I went through a lazy stage and didn't use them for around a year. I'd slaved on their program and worked up about $10 for the half year I'd been with them. However, when I went back to it about 2 monthes ago, I'd been an inactive user for too long and my balance had been wiped! *~~The Story~~* Yes, the same old same old. You dowload a bar.     Have you ever wished you could make money by just surfing on the net? Have you ever wished that just by having an advertising bar on youy computer you can earn money?     Ok, I've been here before, another company that promised me huge amounts of money, seemingly in return for nothing but surfing the web. At the time I was young, innocent and gullible, so duly signed up for Spedia. At first the initial pay rates were very similar to the other programs like CashSurfer, CashFiesta and Desktop dollars, in that I got a small (around 1 megabyte) download and had to run an ad bar on the bottom of my screen while surfing the web.     I have been a member of Spedia for longer than I can remember, however in recent times I have slowed my usage of their bar to almost nothing... in fact, literally nothing! I find that rather than sitting unobtrusively in a corner, you have to basically alter your online activities to suit Spedia, if you're going to earn anything from it. For anyone who is not familiar with Spedia, it's a get-paid-to-surf company, basically you display their ad bar when you're online, and they pay a proportion of what they earn from the advertiser fees (and you can be sure it isn't a large proportion!)     Spedia.net - Started in August of 1999, this has become one of the most unorganized "Pay to Surf" companies released, this company thrives on making itself money, regardless of the costs to the consumer. Spedia is a "Pay to Surf" company that reimburses you for your time and attention on the world wide web, but isn't your attention worth more than a mere $4.17? Well, that what was my pay-out rate after a subtotal of 92 hours online. Spedia doesn't pay you unless your web browser loads a new URL, or web address, every 60 seconds.     Spedia are a US based online marketing company that pay users to surf the internet. They do this by getting you to download some software called the "Spediabar" - this docks itself underneath your Netscape or Explorer browser whilst you are surfing and displays advertisements - which you can click on should you be interested. You can earn up to 60 Spedia points per hour with the Spediabar activated whilst you are surfing, and these can be converted into cash.     Disadvantages Disadvantages difficult to clock vast amounts of time

    I stopped using spedia earlier in the year as it looked as if it was not going to survive offering the rartes that it did with unlimited surfing. Now the bar is well and trully sorted out and has all but the best hackers and cheaters stopped the y have increased there rates (70c/hour reported for sept). The bar itself is not a problem to run just a problem to keep "green" as you need to be visiting a different url every minute to maximise your time online but at the same time this is allowing those who really surf the net to gain th e most from the bar.
