    Sporting Odds is one of the newer online bookmakers and the offspring of the well-established spread betting company, Sporting Index. Like most of its competitors it offers tax-free betting on various sports and topical events. As a regular user of online bookmakers and player-to-player sites I must admit to having a bit of a "soft spot" for this one.     Sportingodds.com offers two free £10 bets when you sign up and credit your account with £10. This is not a bad deal... I promptly signed up and creditted my account... Only to discover that my "free £10 bet" was on a pre-selected football match, in which i had to pick the first goalscorer. Oh dear. My knowledge of football is pretty good but as for forecasting the future... Well, let's say that i was a little dissmayed at this.     If you are looking for a really good online betting site, have a look at www.sportingodds.com. Besides the obvious incentive of 40 quid of free bets there are also other great features. The website is sooo smooth you wont believe it (no annoying java errors unlike some of its rivals). Everything is layed out superbly and runs at top speed. Other little nice-ities include the highlighting of previous bets on a event when you return to the page (very useful).     I have never in my life visited a Betting Shop and would not know the right and wrong ways of betting slips. Therefore, rather than embarass myself I decided to try online. I am a member of ipoints reward scheme and through this web site I was offered ipoints for opening an account and placing a bet of £10 and then I was given 2 FREE, yes FREE, bets.     I registered with SportingBet.com and was very impressed. There are incentives to register as you are given two free £20 bets. The first free bet is given to you after you place your first bet and the second is given after 5 bets although I haven't reached the 5 bets yet. The website is easy to use and very quick. Most of the major sporting events are covered and like Blue Square you can bet in running, ie. place bets whilst a match an event is still going on.     As a "betting tart" I have an avid interest in the different offers that companies use to convince you that you need to join them. Sportingodds.com was recommended to me by a friend who worked there with the promise that you receive 2 free £10 bets on joining - sounds a nice little earner eh? Joining is free and you can use all the normal channels for paying in to your account - debit card, credit card, cheques etc. The free bet offers change every few months and your options are limited.     A great website for betting from home and for all those who like a little gamble, you can choose from the normal sports section i.e horse racing, football etc where it gives live odds on nearly all events and allows for multiple bets.     I joined sportingodds because of an offer that was advertised stating that a £20 matching free bet was available. I joined, gave them my details, placed a bet of £20 and waited for my free bet. When it did not materialise I contacted customer services who said that the link I joined through was "out of date" and would not be honoured even as a "good will gesture". They were happy to take my money but were not willing to honour their promotions. I am disgusted with them.
