For those who don't already know by now I am a dedicated and hard working House Husband, Father, Lover and just about every other title you can think of lol. I have five children a beautiful wife and three cats all of whom demand a lot of looking after not that I'm complaining I love it. Now one major problem with me being at home with two babies all day and living in a location where public transport is not an option is that I can't get out when I want to. (I don't drive you see I know a rarity nowadays but think of all those CO2 emissions I'm saving lol) That's where my good old friend Tesco ... more

Advantages Advantages Simple site, prompt delivery. Quality of goods.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't choose your own produce. Occasional bad dates

Introduction The introduction of online shopping has to be one of the best inventions for those of us that used to get dragged down every isle of a supermarket, buying random things because they were 'on offer'. Now, for a small fee, you can get someone else to do all the running around and having all the stress of trying to find that certain type of fruit juice. In principal it sounds like all my dreams have come true, but is it actually any good? Using the site In order to place an order with Tesco, you will need to have registered with them. This is a simple process and will only take a ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap books, fast service

Disadvantages Disadvantages must have a clubcard to sign up

Tesco - not a name one would usually associate with books is it? Well its the summer holidays and I thought I'd better make an effort to get some of the books on my reading list for next year before everywhere is out of stock! ( Yes I'm quite the eager student aren't I?)LOL Well after a few weeks of scouring the net and inputting details in various price comparison search engines I came across Tesco's book ordering service as it appeared to be the cheapest around or so I was being informed by my trusty price comparison results. The website claims to undercut Amazon by 10% and when I saw the ... more

When I started to use the internet, I vowed never to buy anything online, but oh, how temptation finally got to me, and I decided to give the shopping lark a go. I am especially fond of DVD's and Videos, and after using easyvalue.com to compare prices, I was surprised that quite often, Tesco's would come out as one of the best. When I ordered my first C.D I was pleasently surprised, The web pages are well set out, with additional information on the product, should you require it, they are up front about their delivery charge, which at £1.75 is cheaper than many other stores, their overall ... more

Advantages Advantages Shop from home, voucher codes, quick delivery

Disadvantages Disadvantages You drown in carrier bags!

I first used Tesco online shopping last year, just the once, and then I moved onto Asda shopping. However last month Tesco sent me a "£10 off your next shop voucher" which I decided to use. I had forgotten what an excellent website it is. Its very easy to navigate around. With everything in its separate categories, an option to add all your last shop to your basket, search box, you cannot really go wrong. Usually when I do my shop in store, it can take me around 45 minutes. It took me this long to do it online also, but it beats walking around the store with a baby and bumping into other ... more

Background My family have always been avid tesco fans so you could say i was brought up on tesco! I absolutely love this shop. It has everything you need all in one place. I know people say they undermine small businesses but its quite simply where people want to shop. I dont have the time, like many other working people, to go from shop to shop hunting for my groceries. Tescos have provided a one stop shop and you can have your shopping done for the week in 30mins - brilliant. Quality Tescos food is high quality from the value range to the finest range. The fish counter provides delicious ... more

I read an op on Tesco.co.uk yesterday on caio.com applauding it’s delivery and DVD/CD service. Well, here’s the other side. Firstly, tesco.c.uk isn’t a site that I would normally use to order a CD since there are so many specialised sites but I did. It was a decision I was going to regret. I ordered a CD for £8.99 and the delivery charge was £1.75, the delivery was good it was quick and I got my CD within four working days. So, no problem there you would thin. It was when I received my bank statement when I was shocked that it had charged me three times the amount of the CD ... more

Advantages Advantages Delivery to your door, good customer service

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes forget or don't have products in stock, drivers seem rushed

We are a household with no car and with the nearest tescos over a mile away, it is hard to get bulky things like cat food, water or cat litter delivered to your door in any large quantity. This is where tesco excels. The delivery charge is no more than the cost of a taxi or bus up there and I am sure it is cheaper than getting a car. Living in an age where fuel prices are on the rise, I think that online shopping like this will become more popular in the years, or even months to come. There are some downsides to shopping online for groceries. First of all you don't know if you'll get the ... more

When buying anything from books, videos and CD's online (does anybody pay high street prices anymore?) I usually visit shopsmart.com who search the most popular web sites and give you a break down on cost for the item, postage etc so you can find the best price for what you want. I normally find that the high street retailers and big names such as W H Smiths, Amazon & BOL come out at the most expensive, so I was suprised to see the Tescos were the cheapest for a number of books I wished to buy. The web site is clear and easy to navigate, selling everything from your groceries, electricals ... more

Allow me to introduce you to my circumstances and why I first chose to try using Tesco's online shopping service. I am a student, living with five other students, a fair distance from any supermarket. None of us own cars and had become fed up with paying for overpriced, lower quality goods from smaller, local outlets. I have used Tesco.co.uk, just once. Having read this opinion you will know why! However, this is just a singular experience with the service, so please bear that in mind when reading this opinion and do read what others have to say! So, the six of us, in shifts, added items to ... more
