I've had my mobile for less than a year but already love text messaging... Problem is it gets expensive after a while so I looked at the alternatives. I have found a number of free services on the internet but they all seem a bit dodgy. Lycos sometimes sends, sometimes doesn't, sometimes sends things 5 times over. I just don't trust it.
