Advantages Advantages Lots!! Excellent presentation, easy to navigate, contains all information from the paper, breaking news stories

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be a little slow, adverts, search facility poor

How many times do you buy a paper, read a few articles, get print all over yourself, then leave the papers piling up in the armchair, until you put the rubbish out a week later? A familiar scenario? Well, if so, then I can heartily recommend www.thetimes.co.uk. Advantages Advantages Top columnists, Intelligent commentary, Reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor searching facilities; Transferred to, rather than wrtiten for, the Internet

The Times is still primarily a paper-based newspaper but in the last year or so it has been trying to cash in on the success of the WWW. Its strength is in the quality of its reporting. If you are reading the Times you can be reasonably assured of factual accuracy and intelligent commentary. Every one of the articles in the paper is replicated on line, with the benefit of more frequent updates around the clock. Breaking news is brought to you as soon as it happens. The problem is often locating the article you want. The daily index is too large to be manageable, while the search facility ... more
