After reading many of the previous reviews on this company, I now feel a little foolish for falling for what appeared to be a good deal. A little too good, in hindsight.
I signed up on the 3 network in March, sent off my first voucher (after the first 6 months) in September and at the end of October, I rang them. I must admit that I found it odd, when I rang, that they asked my mobile phone numer, waited and when they came back on the line answered ... ...hindsight, they were obviously getting alot of these calls and were simply using a screening process on the calls. I was told that the first voucher was valid for redemption for 4 weeks only, from the 1st September until the 30th. On the 1st October, my claim would be processed and could take up to 6 weeks. Thus, I gave them the 6 weeks and a little longer, given the Christmas post. Today, I've come to chase them, rang, rang and rang again to no ...

Me too i got stung. Themobs offfered a 12 month line rental refund on a 3 phone contract i bought. Didn't pay a penny then mysteriously closed down operations. Even after they told me in November that it was being processed but just delayed.

Spoke to the creditors who ... ...say there is no chance of being paid the cashback, they added me to the list of creditors and will send me a report.

I bout a phone from themobs.com on June 2005 and in the packige said is 12 months free line rental via cash back in 6 and 12 months.
After 6 months i send my original delivery note and my bill with coupon to themobs.com by recorded delivery on December so i call them and ask did you recive my claim, they confirm yes so i need to wait 28 working days to get my cash mack after 28 days i call themobs and ask what happing to my cash back the man said ... ...then the michine said sorry there is no one available to take your call so phone cut OFF.
Now they close there wibe site and phone line so you can't contact them any more so there is no cash back for you.
Themobs.com are F***** B**** THEY NEEK CUSTOMERS MONEY. ...

Advantages: Themobs.com are fine if you want to pay the full amount. Disadvantages: They do not give the cash-back they advertise.
The phone is good, the service is good, but they do not honour their cash back scheme, with the result that I ended up paying the full £17.50/month, not the advertised tarrif of £2.99.
I am already overdue two months for cash-back, and by looking on the web, I see this is a common thing. Their phone, needless to say, doesn't answer. However, I feel I have had £17.50 worth a month. But next time I will get an honest provider.

Got my mobile contract with this company, when I was setting up they asked me for the name of a sibling which I thought was odd but didn't think too much of it. The account has been set up with the wrong name (the name of my sibling), wrong date of birth, and wrong address. Result is I still pay the bills but I can't change any details on the account (like changing my 3 contract). Been trying to call the company on 0780 111 0157 but I sit "in the ... ...to "your call is important to us, please stay on the line and we will transfer you to the next possible agent" then eventually I get "There is no one available to answer your call" and the system hangs up on me. The website seems to have been shut down too.
On the rare occasions dealing with the call centre agents in the past (when originally setting up the contract) I found them to be difficult to talk to because they have a very poor grasp of ...

Having waited six weeks for my redemtion from the mobs I decided to get in touch with them,having originally sent all required info by recorded delivery to the mobs.No answer to the phones for over a week and when yesterday I found their website was down I began to get really concerned.I contacted trading standards who advised me to write to them by recorded delivery askin for payment to be made within 2 weeks.
Today I contacted 3 to ask their advice ... ...in October(Why were customers of 3 not informed of this).I spoke to three people at the call centre which I assumed was in an Asian country as all persons I spoke to were of Asian origin and two of them didn't speak good English at all.I asked if 3 were prepared to let me go onto pay as you go but was told that the contract was for 12 months and I would have to honor that but could go onto contratc of £25 monthly(paying £ 35 now).Also told if I cancelled ...

I have made a complaint to Trading Standards. I have also lodged a complaint to 3 network as the Mobile Solutions were acting on their behalf. I am still waiting for their response. I must say though that if 3 network are not forthcoming I would terminate my contract with them(cancel my direct debit) as I still have 6 months to go. I am not going to be dupped out ... ...concerned 3 network have to sort out the mess as they have allowed Mobile Solutions to act as agents on their behalf.
If anyone has already taken a similar action(i.e. cancelled their contract with 3 network) please let me know what happened.
In any case WATCH OUT FOR THE MOB'STERS...KEEP CLEAR, THEIR WEBSITE CURRENTLY DOES'NT EXIST BUT I BET THEY WOULD POP UP WITH ANOTHER NAME SOMETIME... ...

After not getting my 6th monthly cashback, despite sending numerous e-mails, sending correspondace via recorded delivery, no positive outcome to receiving the cashback as promised at the time of sale and in the contract, have now contacted the Trading Standars Council to take up my case with The Mobs.Com. After reading other reviews, I am now at least feeling not so bad to know now that there are other victoms of the Mobs .com like me who are still ... ...sending the completed vouchers and the 6th bill via recorded delivery but nothing so far.
There must be some lopholes in the system that the companies are still trading despite receiving numerous complaints about them. I just want justice to be done- I am not bothered who and how but I would like to have my money back. If anyone out there, who knows how to deal with this sort of companies, please do help and I think we all should unite and deal ...

...Here is the lowdown on Themobs.com aka Direct Fone Warehouse aka Choose3.co.uk all owned or having Ross Taylor as a director. They promote 3 in particular who are desperate for customers, hence the very good deals on that network and also T mobile and Orange.
They offer mobile phones at a massive discount ,via voucher redemption, on line rental ( in theory if you redeem all your vouchers you could get a phone and line rental for nothing).
How do ... ...to their network (in effect TheMobs.com are just recruiting agents for the networks. Your contract is with the network and not Themobs.com) they then give some of that money back to you.
In theory what should happen is that after 3 months or 6 months and then 9 or 12 months you submit preprinted vouchers from themobs together with your network bills for the period in question to The mobs.com to prove that your contract is still running with the ...

I waited for 7 months for my cashback and they always said the cashback would be paid next Friday. It never did. I finally took them to court using https://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/countycourtformsonline/Home.go which costs only 30 pounds. they sent me a cheque within 7 days. Dont hesitate to use this as they will also have to pay the court fees. its very effective !!! I hope they learn their lesson that they have to pay.

First cashback was denied on a dubious technicality because the initial mobile bill was for £0.00 and therefore "not a bill". The only mistake in their otherwise seamlessly cavalier attitude to the customer was allowing subsequent cashback claims to be made if the first one was made in error. I bet they do not allow this anymore though.
Second valid cashback claim only obtained after serving notice in small claims court. It was almost three months ...

I was duped from the start with these guys.
To cut a very long story short i got my phone but never activated it. In actual fact sold it on ebay for £30. By doing this and claiming back the vouchers (another story) i would end up with a '0' bank balance, effectively meaning i never spent any money.
The vouchers:
As has been mentioned by another CIAO user this is where the sting is. Make sure you do the following:
1. Get a couple of photo copies ... ...more copies that you would need to be on the safe side
2. Keep every bill you get from 3 Mobile or whoever
3. When you send the voucher and documents to make a claim send it special or recorded delivery. Its about £1 to do and worth it.
4. Remember, keep copies of everything you sent to them... ever!!!!
They have taken nearly 4 months and still no payment so i am taking the hardline route with them. You will spend at least 25mins on hold to call ...

I took out a mobile phone on the 3 network which claimed to give you two lots of cash back at month 6 and 12 on the condition you returned the original delivery note and cash back voucher between the specified dates on the voucher.
Additional paperwork enclosed encouraged you to "promote" the company and earn yourself an extra £20 per person who took out a phone with them.
Stupidly I took out a second mobile phone for my daughter and recommended ... ...first cash back claim as instructed by recorded delivery. When no cashback was received, I sent a follow up letter enclosing copies of the first letter together with proof that the letter had been received by them.
I had a call a few days after the second letter was received from a person who had obtained all my details (name, address, bank account details etc) from OUTSIDE themobs premises (basically themobs had binned them!). The person enlightened ...
