I thought that after I gave Hotmail – popular on the web, and very popular to write about on Ciao - a bit of a hammering, that it might be useful to offer up some opinions on some alternatives that I’ve tried. I have been with totalise email for about 2 years now and I am very happy with the service. I use the web based email service as I travel extensively and it is useful to be able to access emails anywhere in the world on anybody's PC. The following plus points apply to this product :- 1. emails are sent quickly and reliably. I cannot think of an example where I have had to wait a long time for someone to send an email, nor have I lost any (either ...
...no storage capacity, so I can keep as many emails as I like in my inbox or folders. 3. Downtime is very low. Sure it has happened when they upgrade their network (or similar excuses), but they tend to inform you in adavance when these occurances are and they are short and infrequent. I thought it was a misprint until I checked it out. Yes, they really do let you store up to 50Mb of e-mail, and yes it is completely free. What happens when you exceed 50Mb I don't know because it has never happened, even when I've been unable to get online for weeks. When I first started using the net and opened my first email account with Hotmail (doesn't everybody) I frequently got warning messages that I had exceeded my limit, and sometimes ...
...a few days it started bouncing mail. So if you want to join mailgroups and send/receive lots of pics, or mp3 files, or if you don't get to access your mail regularly and it tends to pile up, then you need a big mailbox... and this is the biggest by far. It makes the others look like pygmies:- Mail.com let you store 5Mb, Yahoo 6Mb, Hotmail a puny 2Mb. Even if you don't like the interface, it is useful as a back-up, or for online storage. ...

If I had been writing this review a few months back, I would have fully recommended Totalise Webmail to anyone. It has a very reliable server (it failed only once last year after an overhaul), the online access to your emails is clear and has lots of useful tools, and it was easy to download mail into your email programs, such as Outlook. This all changed a few months ago, when Totalise sold it's email services to another company (I can't remember ...
...service). The first slight change, but high impact change I noticed was that whenever I tried to send mail from Outlook, I was getting an error message. I checked on the Totalise website, and discovered that it is no longer possible to send mail directly from a mail program - you must be logged onto the internet and on the Totalise website to send emails. I have been with Totalise since they launched and have benfitted from the free shares i have earnt as an incentive to use their services. The home page is clear and well presented and the range of services they offer are ever-increasing. There is only one slight adjustment i would recommend to them and that is to add a "check all" button to the email program,which would allow you to delete all unwanted email in one go. Totalise.co.uk is just one of many ISP's, but in my opinion it is better than the rest. More for less? I certainly think so. Services provided by totalise is free e-mails, eurekar (a direct and cheap way to import cars of your choice), flying flowers (direct and next day flower delivery), TOTALISE TELECOM (a cheaper phone service than BT using your current phone line), its own search engine, shareleague,education centre, etc, etc. I have used totalise ...

I joined Totalise a few months ago and from looking at other free e-mail websites, this one is in my view the best choice. I have just started learning how to use the computer and this website is self-explanatory - it's kept simple without too many things filling up the screen.
