    What is Tucows? A huge archive of freeware, shareware and demo software, all of which can be downloaded from this one website. Tucows also reviews the software by giving it a brief overview and a rating between one and five cows. So what? Well rather than go out and spend hundreds of pounds on the latest software apps, there is normally a free product that does the same thing on Tucows.     There are many sites that offer shareware and freeware , but TUCOWS is one of the granddaddies of them all.     Around the internet there are many downloads sites. If you re looking to update the way your computer looks, you could spend hours searching for the right site! Whilst browsing around aimlessly I found that there is a site dedicated to software that will help you change the way your computer looks, as well as a huge archive of music and other software! You might think at this point, flee while you still can, well if you want to go and don't read on.     Well my first experiences of Tucows.com was very good, very good indeed. They certainly know how to look after the general net user. I would not say that this site was for total beginners but for anyone with even slight net knowledge will find this site more than usefull. This site has everything you would expect from a download site. It has shareware, tools, utilities and themes. everything the more "major" download sites have. I have not yet found any drivers though, I dont know whether this is just me or not I say this is not major only because I only heard of this site well after Zdnet and ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Little in the way of "homegrown" software

    Tucows is a great search engine for finding downloads that companys have but samples or freeware software on so the general public can compare different software. I tried using after a had a few recomendations for tucows from freinds who said it was good. Although the layout is very easy to use, and it allows you to choose your download server making the system faster i have found that the range of amateur software available is limited, and with it more fun pieces of software that you migh find on sites like plantsourecode.com ... more

    At this Magical website you can download most anything you want. Apart from Mp3's which is slightly annoying. But the software is nearly un-limitless. The Reason that this download site is better than most others is that most of the stuff you want to download, such as programs, games etc. Comes from a place near you, instead of the other side of the world. For example if you live in Manchester like I do, there will be a mirror(A site that you can download the thing you want from) near the area.     this site is great for all sorts of stuff, there are utilities, editing tools, games and much more. what i like about this site is that there are plenty of mirrors around the world, thus, u cut down your download time by choosing a site nearer to you. also, the sites are frequently updated and you can always find the things that you want (not necessarily what you wanted in the 1st place tho) I use this site mainly for games as well as free themes for my computer---> there are many shareware and freeware games available here and most of them are quite enjoyable All in all this is a great site ... more

    http://www.tucows.com Tucows is a massive archive of Shareware, Demos and Freeware. All the software is categorised and the site is easy to navigate. The download speeds from the site are good and the site itself is fast. Their database is constantly updated so you will not miss out on the latest offerings. The idea of using Shareware and Demos is of great benefit if you are looking for a specific program to buy but are worried that it will do what you want it to do.     Tucows.com is an excellent software downloads site. It offers you a massive selection of shareware, freeware and demo computer programs. I use this site all the time for getting music tools, site building tools and generally any kind of program I can think of. The site is well designed and easy to navigate either by choosing you category (e.g. Audio) and going from there or to be more specific use the search engine. I also find that the rating system they have is very helpful when deciding which program to download (1 to 5 cows). ... more
