It does what it says on the packet

Advantages: Simplicty of use, lets you receive and send email from your main account
Disadvantages: Only lets you check one account at a time (a minor inconvenience)

Twigger scores high marks for its simplicy of use, and its sheer effectiveness. It doesn't over-complicate itself by including too many functions, but concentrates on its core task - letting you receive and send mail from your normal ISP's email account from any Internet connected machine, anywhere in the world. First, lets define our terms. POP (post office protocol) mail is what you use to receive email from a standard email account, the sort you ...
...is the other side of POP mail, and is used to send mail from your usual email account. Twigger can cope with both POP mail you receive and SMTP mail you send because it has its own SMTP server, allowing you to send email using your normal email adddress, but from the Twigger servers. When you sign up with an Internet Service Provider, you receive one or more email addresses. It is these that can be used with Twigger. There are lots (at last count ...

Better than web mail

Advantages: Read your pop3 email from any computer
Disadvantages: -

READ AND REPLY Twigger.com is a new online email service with a difference. It allows you to read and reply to your pop3 email (the email address given to you by your Internet Service Provider) from any computer in the world using Twigger’s online system. UK users log on to twigger.co.uk, enter the username and password for their normal ISP account and select the name of their provider. There is a long list of Internet Service Providers, ...
...information is shown for each email waiting in your inbox. From this screen you can read and reply to your emails. In your signature box you can specify the return address that is shown on your email. Emails that you have read on Twigger remain on the server, allowing you to download them onto your own computer when you return home or to the office. Only BT Internet deletes emails when they have been read on Twigger. There is a UK spell check, ...

Simply uncomplicated

Advantages: no registration forms, easy to use
Disadvantages: none that I know of

While I was rummaging around in Ciao a couple of days ago, I came across some opinions on Twigger.co.uk. The first time I had heard of it. It sounded a great idea in theory so I went off to try it out. Simply call up the site on the screen, enter your username and password for whichever email account you want to access - and there it is! No complicated registration process with Twigger makes it a very attractive site and even relative newcomers ...
...It's very basic, but what else do you need if it does exactly what it says? Apparently you can send emails as well as retrieving them, but I can't comment on that because my main concern was reading mine and I didn't need to send any. I don't know about anybody else, but I get withdrawal symptoms if I can't have access to my emails when I'm away (sad but true!) and by chance I was spending the weekend away. I've looked at all my emails already ...

Have You Twigged Yet

Advantages: Access POP3 mail from anywhere with an internet connection
Disadvantages: Sometimes fails to connect, not often though

This is a simply brilliant idea. Twigger allows to to access your POP3 mail from the net. So if you want to check your e-mail while you are at work use twigger, if you want to delete a particularly large file waiting on your server, use Twigger. There isnt much to say about it, but I've used it for years now to access my Freeserve, Waitrose and Libertysurf accounts, and it is absolutely brilliant. There's one for most countries , and your ISP must ...
...When you access mail, you can do everything you normally do with an e-mail, such as reply, print , forward. I know the op is sparse and sort, but there isn't much to this site, but it is one of the most useful sites on the internet, and its free!!! ...

Very Slow Twigger

Advantages: Very useful, can allow you to send/receive e-mails from almost any computer/location
Disadvantages: Speed, problems with access to the server. Large background graphic - A catapult!

Now for what this site allows you to do, its quite an achievement, but unfortunately (due to it's increasing popularity) its starting to become very slow. For anyone who doesn't know what the function of this site is, basically it allows you to gain access to your home based POP3 e-mail account, anywhere in the world! VERY impressive indeed and very helpful!! Not only does it allow you to access and read the e-mails, it also allows you to send e-mails ...
...servers, its not as impressive as it used to be! Only really helpful if you are patient, have lots of time and are willing to spend a fortune in a Cyber Café or have a rich friend/boss! Most people don't have this and they definitely don't have a super fast ISDN or T3 Digital line to the Internet. Twigger needs to sort this speed problem out ASAP, as it could be a vital resource for people who travel around the world (or wherever) a lot and need ...
