I first discovered www.Uboot.com, on online text/SMS service, 2 years ago when they were young and free. Since then alas, they have started charging for their service… but I knew this would happen. The subscription cost is nothing compared to the savings you make if you decide to join. The original premise was great. Free text messaging and e-mails delivered to your mobiile phone (although these had to be 140 characters or less) and for a while this worked fine. Uboot is the first service that I came across on the net to offer free SMS. So far I have not found a better one. Some limit you to how many you send a day. This is not the case with uboot. You do have to register with them but then you do for most other SMS services. The messages are sent really quickly and you don't get annoying adverts which really slow thing down.
