    A really good experience. I have taken out a 2nd policy with Warranty Direct for my new car. I had an Omega 2.6 V6 which I took out a £290 gold cover policy. After a few months of ownership the car was using coolant and white smoke appeared. I took it to a network garage Nationwide Autocentre (more about this later) and WD took care of the whole bill, £1000. I had problems with Nationwide Autocentre, wrong information i.e. items not covered by warranty when they were, time delays, but no problems with WD.     I had intended to trade my VW Passat in December 2011 but couldn't find anything that I liked at the right price. It was 4 years old. The car was great and the mileage still good so I decided to keep it a while longer. My son suggested taking a warranty, and after some research I took one with Warranty Direct.     I took out a policy with Warranty Direct as we had bought a car I wanted to keep that was out of Manufacturers warranty. I took out the best possible cover they offered for my car (over 70k and 6 years old) which included a few extra bits. I also opted to keep it an ongoing monthy cost, rather than spend a lump sum every year. So I took out the cover at £26 per month. After breaking down I rang WD to find out what the correct procedure was to go about making a claim. Where I was informed that any claim within the first 3 months was usually down to "wear and tear".     This is the first time i have done this but you all need to know what they stand for. Own a Jag 05 plate with 44'000 miles, so my warranty ran out and i thought i'd get another. Warranty Direct seemed to good to be true, (should have listened to what they say) Signed up to the all singing franchise warranty over £400 for the year or 12'000 miles. Car developed a fault 2 weeks ago and i thought no problems i should be covered, so took car to dealer and they ran a diagnostic check, came back engine over boost.     I have found their settlement of garage bills prompt and painless. I drive a large car and consequently have had, in eight years, some large garage bills. As long as the repair was sanctioned by WD. engineers, no problems. Obviously you need to have kept the previous years service record plus MOT. etc. to prove you are a responsible motorist when making a claim also there is a £50.00 excess and, depending on the mileage of your vehicle, you might have to pay a small percentage cost of the parts used in the repair.     I have always been dubious about any form of insurance as the aim of any insurer is to take a premium and find an excuse not to pay a claim. WARRANTY DIRECT are a perfect example as per my experience. In May 07 I took out their Gold Policy providing their so called top class cover for my Mercedes to be repaired by a franchised dealer, cost was £43 monthly. This I thought would provide cover for just about every problem I might encounter.     PLEASE stay well away, i got stung for over 3k bill on my bmw 645/ They are waste of money and time. Very unprofessional and they have no idea what they are talking about. I should of read all the reviews on google before i paid my 850pound of my money that i might as well say i threw in the bin. When it comes to it they dont cover anything and they dont want to pay up. I am in the process of taking them to the court.     I bought a 6 yr old Ford Cmax and decided to buy a warranty for that extra piece of mind. After much searching I plumped for Warranty Direct - and regret it ever since. I was driving one day when the engine management light pinged on, and after discussing with Warranty Direct I took the car to one of their Network garages, to make the whole process quicker and more efiicient.     The following is my opinion and/or personal experience of Warranty Direct. I purchased the 'extensive' extra care warranty from WD approx 6 months ago, at a cost of around £300 pa. (with wear & tear from inception) The vehicle has been subject to a major service at Main Dealer the day before inception. SALES & ADMINISTRATION: Sales and adminstration at the point of sale were both first class - no complaints.
