    Advantages Advantages humorous articles, messageboard.

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be a little quiet at times.

After reading a few reviews about weirdlist, I had always been tempted to go check it out. From everything I read, I got the impression of a humorous website, with funny articles that you can subscribe to, written by the owner of weirdlist - Keith, also known as Alkaliguru in other parts. After finally going over to take a look at the begining of January this year, the first thing I read was an 'announcement', that had been posted on the messageboard by keith. The forum had been hacked, and basically, everything was gone, new posts had to be started, and people had to re-register. I took a ... more

    Advantages Advantages It's mauve.

Disadvantages Disadvantages He doesn't write often enough.

[I promised to write this opinion over two years ago. Whoops. Still, better late then never, eh?] The packaging of this website is – if you'll permit me to roll two jokes into one and get the humour over with - mauve. It's not blue, it's mauve. It's a pleasant, restful blend of mauve and white. It's very pretty, it's very relaxed, and it's nice to look at. Better still than the pretty mauve, the packaging of this website is W3c compliant. This means that whichever your choice of browser – Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera, whatever – this website will look, and work, in the same way. It's ... more

    Advantages Advantages Don't be silly

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No DVD

When you give a million monkeys a million typewriters: you'll eventually end up with the complete works of Shakespeare, so they say. Writing a description that does Weirdlist justice is a struggle. The simplicity of the site hits you first. It's colourful to the extent that the pale blue background contrasts the body of text. The only visual extravagance is a tally counter. Weirdlist is friendly to all connection bandwidths. Be you on a crank driven 28k dial-up modem or have 100Mbps of cable fused to your hard drive, Weirdlist will appear in two shakes of a dragon's tail. The site does not ... more

Advantages Advantages "…twisted, weird humour. Humorous articles about almost everything ...but mainly just surreal takes on sex, death, violence, lost love and the CIA."

Disadvantages Disadvantages I should have found it sooner!

Earlier this year I took a break from Ciao. Why is not important, but you might be interested to know where I went. What I really missed about Ciao was chatting to people and the odd bit of friendly banter, so I went and had a look at Weirdlist. I'd already been a member there for about a year because the man who runs it, Keith, is one of the people I like best on the Internet. He's one of the funniest people I know and one of the most intelligent. That's quite a combination. I'd been too busy with Ciao to realise what a little gem this site is. So, was it love at first sight? Well, no it ... more

    Advantages Advantages Entertaining

Disadvantages Disadvantages Language often 'not in front of the children'

I first happened upon this site through a link on a dooyoo writers profile. Any of you who also write for dooyoo are likely to have come across the writer named 'alkaliguru'. This is his site. For the benefit of non-dooyooers, his opinions are always highly rated and well read. I think this is mainly because he has such an incredibly witty writing style. Plus, of course, he is deliciously wicked when in sarco/sardonic mode. So, to describe 'weirdlist'. Hmmm, that's not so easy, as it is a constantly changing kaleidoscope of thoughts given an outlet. One of the most valuable aspects of this ... more

Advantages Advantages Great place to "blend in" when trying to evade pursuing sanitarium staff members

Disadvantages Disadvantages Being a member of a bboard without a slogan is unnecessarily detrimental to member self-esteem

. WEIRDLIST: A HALFWAY HOUSE FOR RECOVERING CIAOSTERS AND DESTRUCTIVELY-CREATIVE OP-COMPOSERS: Let's face it, folks, if you're an anti-consumer like me, your op of product ops is that they flat-out suck. Suck, suck, SUCK. I genuinely feel guilty subjecting you to the one or two sucky prod ops per year that I stoop to composing (I have a very low ceiling above my desk). The reason I've been masquerading as a consumer obsessed with providing you and the rest of the consumer product-consuming world, this dreadfully mundane tripe we call "consumer-product information," is because I didn't have an ... more

    Advantages Advantages Funny

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Rude

God knows why I decided to go and check out weirdlist.com, I din't know what to expect at all but the fact that it came from a great and oft funny guy. So what do you see when you type in the URL; first things first - you get redirected to http://www.individual73.freeuk.com/, as it seems they didn't fork out for a proper site thing. But not to worry, the bit you type is the important thing and that sounds professional!! First thing you notice is the *lovely* colour. A bluey-purple (not MAUVE!!) repeating gradient stretches over the screen. It looks quite nice to be honest, but the first thing ... more

    Advantages Advantages Funny, weird, surreal.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Do you like weird? Do you like humour? Do you like the surreal? Do you like weird, surreal humour? I do, that’s why weirdlist.com is a home from home for me, and it satisfies a need in me that no other web site can come close to. What is weirdlist? Weirdlist is the brainchild of Keith, better known in these parts as Alkaliguru but I like Keith better, it’s easier to spell. Weirdlist has a default mauvey/bluish look to it, it’s a simple looking website with no annoying flash animation or pop up nightmares to assault your eyes before you get a chance to browse the contents, for those reasons ... more
