WORLD BOOKS - THE BAD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY.

AdvantagesNone. Not a single one.

DisadvantagesToo many to mention here!

"World Books @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ In no uncertain terms, World Books are a prime example of new age vagabonds. I have yet to meet anyone who has had a good experience of this company and I sincerely doubt I ever will. I have decided to update this review as I recieved this morning yet another batch of "please won't you come back to us we loved you so..." leaflets wrapped up in very probably non-biodegradable plastic, and ..." World Books…Just another book club

AdvantagesSometimes cheap books

DisadvantagesToo much hassle, other stuff's a bit pricey, just another book club

"Okay, I’ll admit it. I only joined World Books to take advantage of their ‘buy books for 1p each when you join and receive a free gift’ offer. In my opinion, it’s just another book club. There are a number of these book clubs about on the net. So does this one stand out? From what I’ve heard about other ones, they sound either similar or slightly better. SIGNING UP I joined just under (over?) two years ago. I found WorldBooks through a website ..." Read review

Do you want to find a book to read

Advantages-

Disadvantages-

"If you are into books then this is a site that’s worth checking out. I was sent an anonymous e-mail advertising this site, at first upset at sent more junk mail I decided to have a look. Now, I am glad I did. However, do be patient as the site can take a while to load up but it’s worth waiting for. The site has recently been re-designed to give it a brighter look, and it’s certainly worked. The site looks much neater, well ..." Read review

WorldBooks Club

AdvantagesA wide range of books

DisadvantagesPaying for recommended readings

"If you are in to books then this is the Book Club to join. I have recently joined World Books and thought they are really good. To join World Books you choose 5 books for £2.00 each and then the terms and conditions are you have to buy 4 books in your first year of joining. They have a website which is worth looking at. The website has been re-designed to give it a brighter look and it's certainly worked. The site looks much neater, well ..." Read review

Worldbooks Sucks!

Advantagesi cant think of any

Disadvantagesi need to write a novel on this

"I love reading books and came across a site which claimed to sell books at just 1 p on getting registered. Fair enough, the deal was good and I couldnt resist. It was only after a few days I got shocks of my life. book club started sending me books which I didnt even order! and to my horror, when I checked my online account, I had been slapped a bill of 35 pounds. When I questioned them about this, they said that the books were the Editor's choice ..." Read review

Really not worth the hassle

AdvantagesCheap introductory offer

DisadvantagesAbsolute pain thereafter

"I've always been sceptical about mail order clubs, but thought that I'd give this one a chance. The introductory offer said that you buy x books for a fantastic reduction, on the basis that you buy 2 more in the following year. Fine, I read a lot of books, so thought this would be no trouble. However, this is also on the basis that you receive junk mail aplenty whilst being a member, and have to reply to them monthly to stop receiving the 'Editors ..." Read review

Just too good to be true!!

AdvantagesIntroductory offer saves you £££'s

DisadvantagesNot enough stock to meet demand user account info inaccurate

"In October this year I received info through the post about Worldbooks their introductory offer was terrific and I joined straight away most of the books I ordered (on the 9th of October) were to be Christmas presents. Sadly here I sit on the 15th of December still awaiting over half my original order! I logged onto the Worldbooks website two weeks ago and checked my account to find my books had been despatched but they have still never arrived. ..." Read review

Worldbooks is online

AdvantagesExcellent price

Disadvantagesnone

"Xmas, it is coming soon and I didn't have nothing in mind to give as a present to my boyfriend's mum. It is incredible how sometimes you can run out of ideas, she is a kind of person that have everything. Anyway, I am a member of a book club where you receive a monthly magazine with lots of books, softwares, videos, but mostly books to everybody, all ages. I am very happy to recommend you, and more now that I did buy in the end a present for my boyfriend's ..." Read review

WorldBooks Unsolicited Goods/Demands for Payment

Advantages

DisadvantagesAttempts to obtain money for unsolicited goods

"In early spring a representative from WorldBooks telephoned me to welcome me to the club. At the time I told him I had not joined any book club nor did I intend to do so. He laughed and said that maybe it happened because of a "click-through" from another website. As it happens, I am a member of a couple of websites that promote different offers and competitions from various companies and which hold my personal details. I only ever "click-through" ..." Is it really a good offer?

AdvantagesYou can get a good deal when you open the account

DisadvantagesBad communication if there's a problem

"I signed up with this company last year in order to get some books for my family for Christmas. I understood that I had to buy 6 further books, in a year, before I closed my account. I did not notice any mention that they would send me a book of the month unless it was cancelled, which I have found can be done on the internet by logging into your account, and I had terrible trouble getting it collected. In fact it took me 2 months before I received ..." Read review

World Books

AdvantagesUp to date books at great prices. Delivered promptly

DisadvantagesThe need to remember to accept or decline monthly book.

"I have been a member of World Books on two occassions and I have to say that this time around it has been much more enjoyable. The first time around I had trouble remembering to accept or decline the book of the month and consequently ended up with books I did not want. I therefore decided to cancel my membership. A few years ago I was sent details of their offer again. Upon reading it I found out that they now had a website to browse through ..." Read review
