    Advantages Advantages Good industry news

Disadvantages Disadvantages Targetted more at top level writers

Writerswrite is probably the most print magazine type zine available on the net although for new and developing writers the information vaailable is not all that useful. WW is aimed at professional writers, offering industry news that is second to none for those already well known to the editors doing the buying. Freelancing afterall, is 80% marketing and networking, getting to know the people who you are trying to sell your work to. If you have already reached this stage then the information provided could prove invaluable in your marketing efforts. However for the new writer looking for that ... more

Advantages Advantages Lots of information, free e-zine, lots of links

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need the time to be able to really explore this site

There does seem to be a lot available on the Writer's Write site, beginning with their e-zine "The Internet Writing Journal which accepts submissions from writers - but only non-fiction. Best advice - read the zine itself before attempting to submit, so that you can see the content that is acceptable, and write your article with that in mind. The rest of the site? Well, this is a mine of information on everything from various featured sections (author interviews, Oprah's Book Club, Writer's Bookstore to name a few) to classified ads, including Jobs and Markets For Writers. There are live chat ... more

Advantages Advantages Full service, good sites and sources, How-Tos and News

Disadvantages Disadvantages Less focus on paying jobs for writers

This is a great site for writers who are new to the market and need direction. It's filled with articles which are designed to help writers find resources for their particular needs, as well as "How-Tos" for self-improvement. Also included is a section which is dedicated to providing links to paying and/or non-paying markets, although this area of the website is understated. While the aesthetics are good and there's a great deal of information being offered, it can be a bit burdensome for the writer who's wading through the text and graphics, trying to find actual writing opportunities. This ... more

Advantages Advantages good navigation, plenty of links,

Disadvantages Disadvantages It is mostly for American users

Ever since i took up writing short stories and poetry I have used writerwrite for help and resources. I find it a very good online magazine with many links to other sites. I have used other sites but i keep returning to writerswrite. If you dont mind paying a fee you can get written critiques of your work........so far I have not had to resort to that. The actual layout of the website is good and navigating through the various pages is quick and simple. As I take an active part in the Cheltenham Literature Festival I am always on the lookout for good writers websites that I can recommend to ... more
