YAHOO ME !!!

Advantages: Safe for your computer.
Disadvantages: None yet.

Recently, I found that my email provider was getting bombarded with viruses and that the service was not a viable proposition any more, taking into account that as soon as Outlook Express went in to retrieve mail, error messages would appear, or Norton would jump into action. I have more than 2 dozen items in quarantine in Norton and am uncomfortable about it, and decided that it was time I did something to rectify the situation. I have tried email ...
...had trouble getting onto the site. I suppose the inevitable overload of popularity will slow down an email provider, plus the fact that the filters on email on hotmail were a little too strict and I was finding my friends emails hidden away in my junk folder quite frequently. I searched the net for alternatives, and although up until now, I have preferred to use pop servers, I really have my doubts now with all the spam and viruses that are about, ...

Not Bad At All

Advantages: Great user experience, two options available, good storage size 1GB
Disadvantages: Ads with the free option

I wrote a review last month on Gmail. But before signing up with Gmail, Yahoo mail was the main one I was using. Although I slightly moved some of my contacts to Gmail, I still keep my Yahoo mail in use. In my opinion, they are both very good emails. They represent things in different ways and both have some extra functions. Yahoo mail is a web email service provided by Yahoo that is one of the largest email service providers nowadays. The history ...
...1990s. Since 2005, Yahoo started its beta testing and this is current version: Yahoo Mail beta. This review will be mainly focus on the feature in this version. The beta version is using RIA (Rich Internet Application) techniques, which means it gives users better user experience, however you may find it takes longer than the simple version to upload. With the development of Web 2.0, many online companies have started to test and refine their applications ...

Mail on the Move

Advantages: Fast, reliable and free
Disadvantages: None to speak of

Without a doubt, Yahoo are one of the biggest names on the net and their free webmail service is amongst the best to be found. With web based email, you can check your mail from any computer and from anywhere in the world, making it ideal for those who are constantly on the move. I actually stumbled across Yahoo mail rather late in my surfing career, as I’d been a fairly happy user of Hotmail. But the one thing that impressed me with Yahoo ...
...of it’s email service, considerably faster than Hotmail and with just as many features to take advantage of. The site is displayed clearly and is simplicity itself to navigate and not too choked with advertisements and images. Pages load quickly and you can opt for pages to be loaded either with frames or without, and you can customize the layout of your pages with colours that suit you if the default ones are not to your liking. You can also ...

The best I've tried

Advantages: 6.00MB mail box, use of other Yahoo services
Disadvantages: none

I have been using Yahoo mail for about 4 years, and I think that it is one of the best web based e-mail accounts, and I would definitely recommend it. I also have experience of using Hotmail, but prefer Yahoo mail for a number of reasons. From my experience, Hotmail's service is down more often, and it seems that Yahoo mail is more reliable. (Not that Hotmail is down a lot, just more than Yahoo mail). I was very pleased to discover recently that ...
...my account had a 3.00 MB limit. There is also the option of buying a 25 MB mailbox. I think this is a big improvement to the service, as I always had to keep an eye on my inbox, to make sure I did not go over the limit, and this limit would have been my main complaint about Yahoo mail. The 6.00 MB mailbox is very generous, and most free web based e-mail providers usually have a limit of 3.00 or 4.00 MB. Hotmail only has 2MB of space. When you log ...

Yahoo, I've found a free e-mail account

Advantages: Aboslutly free
Disadvantages: Costs for up grade and can be slow on occassions

Yahoo! Mail is so great that I had to write an opinion on the matter. Ever since I became a member in 1998 I have used it as my main e-mail address although I have used other email addresses in the past I have found this to be the best for nothing. ~ What’s it all about ~ Apart from being e-mail that is completely free (unless you get a larger mail box) it provides many free services when you sign up such as My Yahoo! that contains your personal ...
...and horoscopes (amongst others). It can also be set for American news and other countries if you want to, that is a great option if you require it. The fact that you have a password-protected account is great (most do) so it is unlikely that any one apart from the sender knows what you are reading. I love the address book because you can forward all those weird and wonderful e-mails to your friend. ~ The competition ~ I have used several other ...

Disadvantages: None come to mind

...so if you go to yahoo.com you'll get a yahoo.com address, similiarly if you go to yahoo.hk you'll get an @yahoo.hk address. So for a UK one, go to yahoo.co.uk. There is an upper limit of 2MB per email with attachments but this is no great loss. Downloading through POP3 at home is good but the web interface is good for access through colleges and so on. The service is fast indeed - on testing email forms on a website, the email comes to my yahoo ...

If you have Yahoo Messenger running and a new email comes into your box, you get alerted by an envelope on ...

The best online service

Advantages: 6MB of storage, quite quick, easy to use, can download other email accounts
Disadvantages: Service is down at periods

Yahoo! Mail, like all of Yahoo is incredibly useful and functional. It tends to be overlooked slightly in favour of Hotmail as Hotmail has Microsoft's huge clout behind it, and the Hotmail name is generally better known. This doesn't mean that Hotmail is better... read on and you'll see why I favour Yahoo Mail. So why choose Yahoo? First of all you get a very generous 6MB of storage space. It’s quite cluttered with lots of advertisements, but the folders are large blue links you can’t miss. Yahoo also allows for the sending of HTML messages. You can load up a window allowing you to change the colour, size and font, much like what Hotmail have recently implemented. Yahoo! Mail ...

YAHOO - Free web e-mail.

Advantages: Very reliable, fast, and easy to use
Disadvantages: The sign-up process can be difficult

Ever signed up to an Internet Service provider, used their e-mail address, then left to find that your e-mail address has changed? I certainly have, and it is for this reason that I have been a member of Yahoo mail many years, so I have a permanent e-mail address. The sign up process, although a little frustrating was relatively smooth - the only problems experienced when signing up was related the username, as Yahoo has so many users, finding ...
...the sign up process was simple. Logging into the e-mail service is also very easy - just by visiting www.mail.yahoo.com; all you do is enter your assigned username and password. Once logged in, the layout is very straightforward. The left hand side contains links so you can view your e-mail, change your preferences, sign out or send e-mail, whilst the right hand side shows all e-mails in your 'inbox'. To view these, just simply click the e-mail ...

Do you Yahoo

Advantages: free and reliable
Disadvantages: occasionally hacked

I have been a registered user to Yahoo! services for three years now, mainly it’s free web-based e-mail. I had first signed on with Yahoo! mail because I was leaving AOL, it was free and I didn’t have to download or configure any type of e-mail software. I was a newbie then, so it helped me a lot. Yahoo! has made a lot of changes, and the most recent is to its e-mail. What I like best now is instead of having to wait for web-pages to ...
...have made, or empty the trash, all you have to do is click on the + button by the FOLDERS link. Now you can access all your folders without having to switch back and forth between whole WebPages. In shorter terms, Yahoo! mail is now in frames, a left side and a right side. I’m not a big fan of framing, sometimes it obstructs the view (and I’m not just talking about here at Yahoo! mail) and seeing all those separate scroll bars, do sometimes ...

Disadvantages: Have you got ten minutes?

For the record, I have used Yahoo! email for about five or six years now, the same address etc. That makes me quite a loyal user for the internet. The URL is http://mail.yahoo.com Let me tell you the good things about Yahoo! before I pull them to pieces... 1/ Well; it's free. 2/ It's accessible from virtually any computer anywhere in the world. 3/ I find it very user friendly and intuitive to use. 4/ Once you join then your user name and password ...

Good PR is important for them in what is a cut-throat industry. 6/ You get 6mb of storage space in your email which is more than most. 7/ You can attach files to ...

Are you new to E-Mail.

Advantages: Great way to communicate.
Disadvantages: A few more things to learn.

When you start to use e-mail it does seem to be a whole new world with very strange terms that seem very unusual. Well I hope to take away some of that mystique and also give you a few hints that hopefully will help you to use e-mail successfully. First of all, it is easier to think of e-mail in exactly the same way as you would think of conventional mail (snail mail). At home all of your mail drops through your letter box onto your doormat. In e-mail ...
...are sent to you will arrive in this inbox. When you look at e-mail messages you have the same choices as you would have with conventional mail. Some items are just rubbish (junk mail) and just need to be thrown away. At home we would throw them in a bin, on e-mail you “Delete” the message or put it in a “Trash” bin. Some of the mail may not be for you. At home you would just pass this onto the relevant person, perhaps with ...

Does pretty much what it says on the tin

Advantages: Free, Web-based means you can check anywhere, can set up for many accounts
Disadvantages: Bit of advertising, occasionally slow or unreliable

Yahoo! Mail is a web based e-mail service akin to the many others that are around, of which the most well known is probably Microsoft's Hotmail. Is it any good? Well, here's a rundown of the features and some of my experiences with it. 1) Web Based E-mail For those who don't know, you can send e-mail from webpages rather than having to configure your computer to send and receive e-mail from your Internet Service Provider. The main benefits of web ...

You can then write and receive e-mails in web pages designed for the task. 2) Extra features After signing up to Yahoo! Mail (a typical internet sign up asking for some details and a password) you would expect to, and can, send and receive e-mails from your new address, usually "username@yahoo.com". Of course, ...

Neat little box of tricks

Advantages: Great e-mail service, good address book, very flexible
Disadvantages: None really

Gott im himmel – when the hell (note interesting interplay heaven/hell, coincidental rather than planned – note to self: going a bit schizoid) exactly did e-mail become so completely indispensable? These days even the banks are demanding that you provide an e-mail address when you open an account, the staid old fruits! Now, being a tite old git as you may have remarked from previous correspondence, dave27 had abso blooming lutely no intention of ...
...how vital they are. Of course, you have to balance that against the fact that most free e-mail services these days are getting just that little bit ropey and there is an argument for paying at least something to ensure you have a reliable home for your cyber correspondence. I actually have a plethora of e-mail addresses – the standard Hotmail account, one at SoftHome, another at AOL, several associated with the websites I run and another at Operamail, ...

Is it the Cornwall thing

Advantages: Very reliable, their popularity speaks for itself
Disadvantages: For us, the UK version has been left standing, but its stil good

Yahoo was the first proper free Internet email service that I ever joined. With so many users of Yahoo as a search engine, I think that this is probably one of the most widely used email services in the UK (and possibly the World - not sure on that though so don't take my word for it). It is laid in the same sort of style as the main pages on Yahoo, through which the mail service is entered. Its very easy, just a big fat envelope to click on at the ...
...very much like most other email services. You type in your username and password and you're away. It opens at your main account page. From here, you have access to all parts of the email service they offer. Your inbox (which can hold up to 6MB, or they offer you the chance to buy (for $19.99) a 25MB one) is placed right in the centre. Around this you have the extras. Address book, calendar and notepad are all given their own space. Yahoo mail is ...
