    Advantages Advantages Well it's free

Disadvantages Disadvantages Have you got ten minutes?

For the record, I have used Yahoo! email for about five or six years now, the same address etc. That makes me quite a loyal user for the internet. The URL is http://mail.yahoo.com Let me tell you the good things about Yahoo! before I pull them to pieces... 1/ Well; it's free. 2/ It's accessible from virtually any computer anywhere in the world. 3/ I find it very user friendly and intuitive to use. 4/ Once you join then your user name and password link to a whole raft of other value added services ranging from Yahoo Briefcase (which allows you to upload 30mb of files onto the net) to Yahoo ... more

Advantages Advantages Great way to communicate.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A few more things to learn.

When you start to use e-mail it does seem to be a whole new world with very strange terms that seem very unusual. Well I hope to take away some of that mystique and also give you a few hints that hopefully will help you to use e-mail successfully. First of all, it is easier to think of e-mail in exactly the same way as you would think of conventional mail (snail mail). At home all of your mail drops through your letter box onto your doormat. In e-mail your doormat is something called an “Inbox”. Any messages that are sent to you will arrive in this inbox. When you look at e-mail ... more

Advantages Advantages Free, Web-based means you can check anywhere, can set up for many accounts

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit of advertising, occasionally slow or unreliable

Yahoo! Mail is a web based e-mail service akin to the many others that are around, of which the most well known is probably Microsoft's Hotmail. Is it any good? Well, here's a rundown of the features and some of my experiences with it. 1) Web Based E-mail For those who don't know, you can send e-mail from webpages rather than having to configure your computer to send and receive e-mail from your Internet Service Provider. The main benefits of web based E-mail are that you can access it from any PC with internet access - you don't have to configure the computer, all you need do is type in your ... more

Advantages Advantages Great e-mail service, good address book, very flexible

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really

Gott im himmel – when the hell (note interesting interplay heaven/hell, coincidental rather than planned – note to self: going a bit schizoid) exactly did e-mail become so completely indispensable? These days even the banks are demanding that you provide an e-mail address when you open an account, the staid old fruits! Now, being a tite old git as you may have remarked from previous correspondence, dave27 had abso blooming lutely no intention of paying for the privilege of having an e-mail account, despite how vital they are. Of course, you have to balance that against the fact that most free ... more

Advantages Advantages Very reliable, their popularity speaks for itself

Disadvantages Disadvantages For us, the UK version has been left standing, but its stil good

Yahoo was the first proper free Internet email service that I ever joined. With so many users of Yahoo as a search engine, I think that this is probably one of the most widely used email services in the UK (and possibly the World - not sure on that though so don't take my word for it). It is laid in the same sort of style as the main pages on Yahoo, through which the mail service is entered. Its very easy, just a big fat envelope to click on at the top of the screen. From this point on, it’s very much like most other email services. You type in your username and password and you're away ... more

Advantages Advantages very easy to use, can check e-mail from anywhere

Disadvantages Disadvantages takes a while to attach files to e-mails

Before joining yahoo mail I was advised to get a hotmail account. If you know me, which you probably don’t and never will, you will know that I am the type of person who does exactly the opposite that everyone suggests. I like to be different you see. Since joining yahoo auctions I have probably persuaded at least ten other people to join as well. It’s useful to have your friends using yahoo e-mail because they tell you when your friends are on line. If you all have yahoo instant messager you can use that too. I haven’t managed to get that far yet. It’s very easy to set ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy access 24 hours 7 days any where in the world

Disadvantages Disadvantages If you are not careful can expose your account to unwanted users

I have always used Yahoo Mail ever since becoming Internet savvy all those many years ago, well 1998 to be precise. At the same time I joined up to Hotmail and quickly decided between the two for which was to be my favourite. I can imagine a lot of you have more than one web based email address and try to come up with the best imaginable name possible. I have the most obscure name ever and have always managed to get mines first time every time. Yahoo and Hotmail were the first I registered with this name. Anyway Yahoo was soon my best buddy when logging in and out of the web, Yahoo.com was set ... more

    Advantages Advantages Everything

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing

I've tried many email services since I got the internet (About 30 altogether) but Yahoo mail has to be the best out of them all. You can access your acount from anywhere that you have internet access. This is great for when you go on holiday where you know people that live there. You can customise your email page by changing the colours and choosing what you want on it such as weather etc. This isn't the only things that are good about yahoo mail, you can download your email into outlook express and send your email from there where as other email acounts, you have to load the site to write ... more

Advantages Advantages excellent reliable email account, extensive range of other services and offers to Yahoo! email account holders

Disadvantages Disadvantages um i cant think offhand of any

Yahoo email is an excellent service. It is a webbased free internet service. For one thing, I get much less spam as I do with Hotmail! The only adverts I get are from Yahoo direct, and I get discounts and offers on services I have highlighted having an interest in. The email service itself is very well presented online, with its services being easy to navigate on the site. The email service is very reliable and quite fast for a webbased email service. You can check other POP email through Yahoo, and you can also download Yahoo email onto email programs such as Outlook, so that for those of you ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable, quick, easy to use, huge range of features and it is possible to use it as a web-based and POP account.

Disadvantages Disadvantages All the best usernames have gone

The best thing about Yahoo's free email service is the fact it's BOTH web-based and POP3 (where you collect email through an email client such as Outlook) and you can use both methods of collecting your email concurrently. This is the single best feature that differentiates it from almost all other free email providers. As a heavy email user, I use both the web-based and POP3 features concurrently - when I'm away from home I can check for mail via their website. Then when I get home I can still download all of my mail to my own software - even the ones I already viewed online - so I can keep a ... more
