Advantages: Very gory, fanastic graphics and plenty of original features

...game it is. We got Gears of War as part of the 360's deal. We had a choice of games and my selection was based on top marks from none other than my fellow reviewers of course! ...that came out at night; Gears of War has some very similar creatures that attack in the dark, and seeing hundreds of them fill the sky is a frightening sight, and throughout the dark stages you have to constantly duck between light areas to stay alive. Gears of War is short. I'll be perfectly honest with you on that front. It'll take you somewhere between ten to twelve hours to make it through the game on Casual, the easiest of the two diffculties available at the beginning. A third diffculty level is unlockable after completing the game. At £40, ten hours might seem like a waste, especially with the hype juggernaut backing it up. ...game is very playable indeed. Gears of War is powered by the same engine which runs Unreal Tournament, and may even be an insight into Unreal 2007 (which may or may not be released on XBOX 360 later this year), which means you can really 'get into it' in a way which you don't often experience with lush graphics, awesome sound and real depth.
