As with any GCSE student at this time of year, I am looking for any bit of help I can get at the moments, and the Letts Revision Guides were just screaming out to me. There are 22 books in the series, covering almost all the GCSE subjects, bar music. However, this opinion is concerned with the Mathematic book, which at over250 pages is one of the most comprehensive around. It covers all the exam board, and includes tests, mock exams, revision advice ... ...book is organised into chapters, for example algebra and shape etc… The book costs £9.99, and can be bought as part of a pack, which includes rapid revision cards and GSCE Maths in an hour – which really is not worth it. The book is printed in green and black, which although is clear, can become boring – not something you want when your revising! Where possible the book gives a variety of different methods to each type of topic, ... more

The book is organised into chapters, for example algebra and shape etc… The book costs £9.99, and can be bought as part of a pack, which includes rapid revision cards and GSCE Maths in an hour – which really is not worth it. The book is printed in green and black, which although is clear, can become boring – not something you want when your revising! Where possible the book gives a variety of different methods to each type of topic, and gives many worked through examples and ones for you to try. All the answers can be found at the back of the book. The formal style of this book, although make it clear, does make it dull and businesslike, and therefore perhaps GCSE Bitesize would be a better choice, especially for the less able students.
The first Mathematics revision guide to cater for the new syllabuses and it sets a standard for forthcoming books. Like all the Letts guides it dedicates a whole chapeter to coursework but unlike other Letts guides, I feel that this one is the most comprehensive and the one that I understand the most.
