Known to be one of the "UK's Best-selling study guides". Thats what they say; well what do you expect, thats the one that all the schools seem to reccomend due to its factuality and simplicity. I however feel differently, after using others on the market that I felt were a lot better.

This was one of a few science revision books that were on my bookshelf for last years GCSE exams. It was not my favourite, but I found it very useful never the less. Many people say you should get a revision book in the couple of weeks leading up to the exams, but in my opinion you should get it right at the beginning of the course due to the help it gives you with homework and understanding the course before it is getting too late to worry.

Well, thats enough of my experiences; so lets get back to the book. It is aimed primarily at students studying at single or double science level, so you brainboxes will need to find another book to completet the course. If however you are unable to find one then this would provide a great base for you o work from, with going into depth with certain aspects.

It is well orgainised, with being split up into each of the three sciences, before again being split into more manageable chunks. With the rather large font and numerous pictures you may feel quite overwelmed with the overall size of the book. I think this was the case for me, as you always felt you had loads to do, and got stressed. For this reason the CGP revision books were best for me, as t wasn't longwinded and was very clearly presented with a minimal number of pages.

The Letts guide is on the market for £11.99 from most book shops. I feel this is quite expensive for what it was; but saying that it did prove vital when piling on the coursework marks.

One of the better aspects of the book was the large number of clear pictures, relating specifically to all the harder aspects of the course to grasp. These proved invaluable, as a picture speaks a thousand words; and that is what you remember when you are sat in the exam hall.

As with all Letts guides, they run the scheme whereby it is "Sucess or your money back". This therefore allows you to use the book to your best advantage, but if it doesn't work for you, then you will get compensation of £11.99. Although in my mind that is hardly compensation for 2 years of hard work.

Just remember it is never too late to revise, but the earlier you start the better you will do.
