Advantages: Long lasting colour, not too drying, glossy Disadvantages: Gloss doesn't last long, price
I must admit that I don't usually wear lipstick. I am of the sheer minded gloss wearing, carefree lip balm school that started as a reaction to 80's matt colour teamed with shoulder pads; the thinking was, powerful suit, powerful lips, powerful woman.
So we all tried to regain some of the natural allure of glosses and sheer lightweight colours. That's partly why I bought this one. It seemed a perfect compromise; a long-lasting colour ... ...the 'timeless nude' colour and was relatively impressed.

WHAT THE HELL IS IT?
It is a somewhat uninspiring looking wand divided in two. One end holds the lip colour which you smooth on with a foamy applicator wand. Simply wait until it dries (which doesn't take long) then brush on the glossy clear topcoat to seal the colour and make your lips shiny and carefree! The colour itself is very 'thin' feeling which i like as I cannot stand gloopy, thick colour. It feels thin and yet it does seem to last. Apply the gloss and the effect is full impact. The gloss certainly enhances the appearance of the colour, but it doesn't act as a 'topcoat' in the sense that it doesn't really 'seal' the colour. You can eat and drink and not lose the lipcolour, but the gloss wears off very quickly - well as quickly as any other gloss. The product doesn't smell - which I think is a good thing as too many lip products are sickly sweet and you end up licking them off!
The colour claims to last up to 8 hours and I have to say, I never believed that! No lip colour lasts that supremely. However, what I expected was about 4 hours of colour - that's enough to impress me. And it worked. The colour did last 4-5 hours, even with eating and drinking - although it did begin to fade. Its the gloss that needs reapplying every hour or two. If someone can invent a gloss product that doesn't wear off, they will make a fortune! The gloss isn' t too heavy though, gives a good shine and thanks to its 99% moisturising ingredients, it doesn't seem to dry out your lips. Having said that, it doesn't actively moisturise either.
I recently lost my nude colour and bought mulberry. I didn't like this colour as much as it is a little too vibrant and i think glosses look better over natural colours. Its also more obvious if this colour bleeds/ends up on the edge of a glass and as it fades off the lips.
WOULD I RECOMMEND? I like the product in theory and it lives up to about 70% of its claims in practice. I would definitely go for a nude or natural colour though and if the price was a little more reasonable (its 8.99) and the packaging more exciting, I would be more inclined to buy. Having said that, you do end up with a useable clear gloss and a lipcolour and to buy them separately would cost you a lot more.
Well have you seen the ad? Halle Berry strutting her stuff, telling us to go out and buy this new lippie? I didn’t need her to persuade me – I bought mine a few months ago while on holiday in the USA. If I tell you I paid less in dollars than it costs over here in pounds, this might tell you how ripped off we are! This baby costs £8.99 over here and, while Boots were also offering 100 bonus points, this still wouldn’t have made me buy it!
So what’s ... ...card, the shade I bought was called Perpetual Pink (shade 06). This is a neutral beigey pink colour, which is the colour of the lid (and is also written on it so that once the card is thrown away, you can handily remember which shade you chose!). The pink lid unscrews to show an applicator sponge which is slanted to help you with the application. At the other end is the gloss stick, which contains a clear gloss top coat and from which you can see ...

Advantages: stays in place for a long time Disadvantages: dries lips and sticks to teeth
I loved the idea of a lippy that stayed put for hours but as usual the down side is it made my lips very dry after use and also stuck on my teeth.
I would not buy this again as quite expensive and I personally did not like the drying effect it had on the lips.
It may be ok for occasions when need long lasting effect such as at a wedding where there is a lot of kissing going on! but personally I would prefer to re apply as needed with normal gloss ...

Advantages: stays on for loooog hours Disadvantages: hard to remove
i just love the word 'overtime' in the name. its the kind of lipstick i have been looking for ages. my search for a good transfer resist lipstick has ended here. its a two sided lipcolor one end is the colour andthe other end is the gloss. i want to collect all shades of it. right now i have 7 out of the 28 shades. it has made my collection so elegant. i love to put it on. unlike most of the girls i like it matte so it does not need touch ups. but ... ...ups again and again. it stays there for 5or 6 hours but then it becomes light. its a gr8 lipcolour but at the end of the day when i want to remove it it just wont come off. at that time i feel like i am using a paint for my lips instead of lipstick. it wont come off with vaseline or make up remover what i do is i use both and finally brush my teeth so it comes off nicely with a lot of effort. but i still love it. as it is available in various shades ...

Advantages: Lasts for ages, gorgeous colours Disadvantages: Very expensive
This is another product I decided I wanted after seeing it on someone else! My friend Elly wore the Faithful Fawn shade regularly and I always thought it looked lovely. She bought it as a Xmas present for me and I love it! I have pale skin and black hair and this quite neutral brown shade looks really nice on me. Since then I have also bought Stay Currant which is a grogeous red and that also looks really striking. Having tried various so-called ... ...least. But it turns out I was wrong! I suffer from dry, chapped lips and this lippie doesn't affect me in the slightest. The colour goes on smoothly and easily and once it's dry and the topcpat goes on, it looks lovely. It lasts all day on me with a couple of re-touches with the topcoat. I was really suprised how moisturising the topcoat was. I'd love to buy another one is a different shade when I can afford it as this is definitely the best long-lasting ...
