Now, before I start this review I must start with a confession.
I'VE NO IDEA WHERE YOU CAN BUY THIS PRODUCT.
I bought my Revon Colorstay Liquid Lip off of a market stall selling a whole range of make-up, but haven't seen it in any shops. The American spellings on the packaging suggest it may have hopped over the pond, but as far as I'm aware its not available in UK shops at the moment (maybe this will change if it is a relatively new product?). If, however, you are tempted to give it a try, there are some available on Ebay.co.uk in a small range of colours for about £2 each - a lot cheaper than the recommended retail price which the vendors claim is £10, which sounds about right for a Revlon product.
Revlon Colorstay comes in a clear tube with a gold wand applicator. Inside the tube the product is visible - in this case it is a shockingly bold red, a true pillarbox shade. The packaging makes it look like a lipgloss but whilst the product looks quite wet on application it quickly sets to a more matt finish. The product comes inside a clear sided box which features the ingredients (a whole load of long scientific words, means nothing to me i'm afraid....) and the declaration that this is 'Silky, satiny "Won't Kiss Off" lipcolor!, providing "Liquid Satin, Liquid Softness and Liquid Lip-Color". I have tried numerous 'long lasting' lipsticks (see my review of L'Oreal Kissproof), but this is the first long-lasting liquid product that I have sampled. It apparently contains vitamins - I have no idea what this is supposed to achieve but I guess its meant to keep your lips looking luscious and healthy.
To apply the product you pump the applicator then put in on your lips using the applicator wand. The applicator is a small sponge which makes it very easy to apply blocks of colour, but I found it a little difficult for making a precise line - this would be perhaps be made easier if you were to apply a lip liner first, but the colour does not bleed so this isn't essential. The colour itself is just as intense on your lips as in the tube - the shade I used, 'Red Zinger', is perfect for any wannabe Scarlet Lady. The product feels satiny on your lips as opposed to glossy, with particles in the products making your lips glisten. The colour sets within a couple of minutes, providing a stain of bright colour that genuinely does stay put very well - planting a big smacker on the boyfriend's cheek left only a hint of colour on his face, and tempting red lips remained on mine. I would highly recommend it for providing long lasting colour in a really bold shade, 'Red Zinger' is certainly not a hue for wallflowers but I personally love eyecatching red lips for a night on the town, and I find that red makes my mediocre lips looks full and healthy and (i hope) highly kissable....
One of the main problems with long lasting products is that they can leave your lips feeling a bit dry. This is also the case with this product - when it initially sets you can find yourself wanting to give your lips a good old licking. However, I found that the dryness quickly subsided and it didn't really feel like I was wearing anything on my lips at all except for a big smile (at my lovely Red Zingers).
This is definitely a product worth checking out if, like me, you don't like having to reapply your make-up every five minutes. With Revlon Colorstay Liquid Lip you can be on the dancefloor all night and still have vibrant colour on your lips the next morning - and leave no marks on his pillow, his neck, or wherever else your mouth may wander.......

This definitely has to be a product for me.I also hate having to apply my make up every 5 minutes so I'm constantly looking for something that lasts.
Great review!

I've recently sussed I'm more of a balm and glossy lippy person than lip gloss, this sounds nice though. Chris x
