The base is height adjustable and the frame of the mirror very sturdy .It has a nice broad base and can be rested easily on a table and turned around three ways depending on the light.I find it very useful when i apply eye liner and eye make up as you need to have light focused on the eyes.The magnifying surface shows up everything very clearly. After using this mirror i find that using other mirrors in my house a bit of a strain.It is sharp and crystal clear and i love it.I can easily fold it neatly and take with me while traveling. It is a bit expensive but in the long run worth it as it is very sturdy and top quality
