*INTRODUCTION* The first time I came across this product was whilst browsing the make-up isles in Boots. I had heard endless compliments about Revlon, and decided to taske a look and see what the shelves had to offer. Although I didn't need anything (yep, I admit it!) this product attracted my attention. After reading the small text on the back, I decided to try a small amount out on my cheek, and loved what it made my skin look like!
*VARIETY* There are a few colours to choose from, and depending on personal choice and skin colour, there is one to suit every person! To begin with, I bought the 'Peach light' illuminator, but after a few days of using it thought that I could do with something which gave my face a little more colour, so also purchased the 'Golden light' product as I liked the effect this had on my skin even more than the first!..Yes I admit, I'm a real product junkie :p
*PERSONAL EXPERIENCE* Although I cannot comment on the rest of the colours, I can compare the peach and the gold one. In my experience of using both products, I can say that the peach illuminator gives my skin more of a subtle sheen compared to the gold one, which adds colour to my cheeks. It is upto personal preference whether to choose the lighter or darker versions of the product, as each one has a different desired effect.
I have found that the peach light product suits my face when the rest of my make up makes a statement. For example, If I decide to use a bold eye shadow, or brighter lipgloss than usual, then it is beneficial to tone down the cheek colour to a minimum sheen, or my make up would look too over done. On the other hand, I would use the golden light product when I want to keep my make up more natural, and use gold eyeshadow, or maybe non at all. Again, this would be very flattering, as the golden tones suit my asian skin, making it look more natural and 'glowy'.
*PACKAGING* The product comes in a rigid tube with a transparent lid. Each colour of product has a different shade of tube, so you know what kind of colour it offers before you even test it. Containing 40ml of lotion which lasts a very long time, as so littl product is needed, I would say that it is very good value for money, being at £9.95
*HOW TO USE* There are different ways of using this product, which makes it very versitile depending on the desired effect. If you're just after something to brighten your whole face up, then one squirt is enough for the whole face, mixed together with your usual foundation. However, I wouldn't advise you to do this with the darker shades of the product, as it would result in uneven tones on the face. But it would work perfectly with the 'peach light' product.
On the other hand, it can also be used just to highlight cheekbones, underneath brows etc. You need the same amount, or maybe even less. A little really does go a long way with this product, and overloading on it just won't achieve the same result. All you need to do is rub a little in and glow like there's no tomorrow!
*FRAGRANCE* The product does have a subtle smell to it, which I have found to be most refreshing. The different colours all smell the same as far as I am aware. It is a fresh, creamy smell - which can't really be described accurately - but it's delicious!
*ADDED BENEFITS* Another thing which attracted me to the product is that it has added SPF 15, and a combination of vitamins C & E, making it extra good for your skin. The sun protection is a great bonus, especially if your foundation doesn't have this protection. Great! The tube also states that it can be worn alone or with foundation, but I have found it to be much more affective with foundation, as the base is more even and application is easier.
*OVERALL VERDICT* I would definitely reccomend this product to anybody. The range of shades the lotion comes in offers something different for each feature of the face. I would recommend buying one dark shade and one lighter one, as the product is so versitile. The added benefits of having sun protection and vitamin supplements for the skin just add to its good qualities.
On the other hand, although it does have these added benefits of protection, and not just being make up, I wouldn't recommend anyone to stop using their facial sunscreen, as you wouldn't always use it all over the face and wouldn't have the same protection, as you do not need as much of the product as you would need sunscreen. Although it is an excellent buy, it isn't made to act as protection against the suns harmful rays, so I would suggest that you add it to your make up bag, not replace something as important as sunscreen :)
...golden glowing tan.
Discovering Revlon Skinlights face illuminator was, therefore, a small miracle for me. I first chanced upon this product whilst browsing the cosmetic stall of my local weekly market.
“Arf price lovey, ten quid in Boots that is” the ruddy faced market stall holder shrieked loudly at me.
I hesitated as I thought £5.00 was still quite pricey for a product I had never heard of before especially off a market stall where I am used ... ...an item.
“Me daughter swears by that stuff…..won’t use anyfink else,” the ruddy faced woman, scenting blood, went in for the full on Sales kill as I dithered over whether to pay the price or not.
I held the bright pink tube in my hand and quickly scanned the blurb on the back. It promised to help conceal imperfections by blending seamlessly with your own skin tone to give a luminous, natural look at the same time leaving your skin soft and smooth ...

...found my wonder product - Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator!
This 'illuminating' lotion promises to brighten up skin and give you a luminous, radiant complexion, whether used by itself or under foundation. It even claims to contain a crystal complex and vitamins C and E - I think the Vitamin C is pretty much obsolete as it's a very unstable vitamin, but hey, it sounds good! The lotion also contains SPF15 but you're unlikely to get the benefits ... ...love the just-fallen-face-down-in-a-deep-fat-fryer look!
Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator (what a mouthful!) comes in a very sturdy plastic tube with a pump dispenser at the bottom. It does look quite expensive, but probably no more so than it actually is! There are loads of different shades, ranging from almost white to brown, but it doesn't matter if there isn't an exact shade match for you because it's very sheer and isn't like a foundation. ...

...glow for under £10: Revlon SkinLights Face Illuminator Lotion.
So what's so great about this highlighter?
Well, it subtley highlights the skin, giving you radiant, glowing skin to die for. It brightens up dull skin in no time. Plus, it contains SPF 15 and vitamin C and E.
Great, so can I use it to replace my facial sunscreen?
I would not recommend it. Although this lotion is light, oil-free, and contains a reasonable SPF, you should remember ... ...your skin tone, or achieve a different look.
So there's my secret- well, not so secret anymore!
If you're looking for healthier, brighter skin use Revlon Skinlights. It will subtley conceal flaws whilst allowing your real skin to show through.

Advantages: Contains sun protection but that's about it. Disadvantages: Inferior colour and performance, not worth the money
...search that I first tried Revlon Skinlights on for size.
Normally spending over ten pounds on something that's going to run out makes me a little bit anxious, but on this occasion I thought I'd give it a shot and headed to the Revlon stand in my local Boots. Unlike the Maybelline and L'Oreal counters where there are usually a gaggle of teenagers and twenty-somethings hanging around rubbing different coloured products into the backs of their hands ... ...so many other cosmetic companies, Revlon seem to believe that human skin is meant to always be a lighter or darker shade of orange and have made all their foundation hues variants on a strange orange tan. All foundations are based on either pink or orange, but all to often the latter colour is taken on a bit too enthusiastically when pale people like myself tend to suit a pinker variation. Anyway, needless to say it didn't suit me as well as it should ...

Want to know the secret of the stars dewy complexions? Then read on!
Revlon’s fairly new product, skinlights face illuminator comes in a fairly thin tube with a huge cap at the bottom in relation to the tube and has a pump action to get the actual product out.
You get 40ml of this little beauty and believe me it’ll last you ages, I’m betting on a 6-12mths worth of use and for the price of between £8.99 and £9.99 (depending where you buy it from) ... ...professional look and yes, the celebs do use it themselves but for the life of me can’t remember who exactly (isn’t that annoying?!).
5-6 shades are available though you may find your local stockist wont have them all, that’s always the way but it isn’t like a foundation so you could get away with a darker/lighter shade than what you would normally go for.
The shades start at natural light, to peach light going to bronze light, which could be used ...
