Review of ?Ring of Clay? a novel by MargaretKaine.
I am reviewing the paperback version of the novel, 401 pages, published by Coronet books, ISBN 0340828234. Genre- General Fiction, cover price £6.99.
The Novel
Ring of Clay is set in the Pottery towns of Great Britain in the period from 1947 to the late 1960's. The plot follows the life of a young girl, Beth Sherwin and her family. Beth's father returns from war and struggles to return his family to normality. He resumes is work in the packing department of one of the large 'pot banks', the local name for the pottery workshops.
Ill health causes Harry Sherwin to seek alternative work out of doors and he takes a position as a post man, a job he enjoys and which takes him out of the stale, dust laden environment of the potteries. Sadly, he dies at a young age, leaving ...

She will not tell him and he along with the two men are left in suspense.
The patrol leaves the Fort and they are soon forced to make a diversion to get the ladies to their stage as they have come across the savage Comanche Indians and do not wish to fight whilst the ladies are with them. Brittles knows that he will have to take him men into battle with these Indians at a later date but will he be able to do so before his retirement and can he get the ladies to their stage and away from the Fort before the danger starts? Our daughter was given the Winnie the Pooh Moonlight Dreamshow as a gift for Christmas at 11 months old. I wouldn't have got her another cot mobile at that age but she loves it. She does sometimes play for a bit in her cot and often will make it start again if it stops. But when she's tired enough she will happily drift off to sleep, while listening to the calming music and watching the lightshow on the ceiling.
