No more clumpy rice! Advantages: Cooks great rice every time Disadvantages: Has dinted quite badly with normal use ...I don't own any other breville appliances - bar a 20 year old sandwich toasters, but I would buy one in future. You can of course stick to using a boiling a pan full of water - but actually a rice cooker has been more useful than I thought it would be, I don't think I could do without one. So is that rice as good as that I remember - yes it is - but I like to think my chilli is a big improvement on the 70's experience - sorry mum! Morphy Richards Rice cooker - Too clever for me! Advantages: An easy way to cook rice dishes Disadvantages: Not suitable for small families due to the minimum cooking quantity ...I settled on the Morphy Richards 48744 as to be honest that was the only one offered on the fact finders website and I thought I would use up some of my points. . The Rice and Pasta cooker is a mirrored silver colour with black handles with a toughened glass lid with a black handle and a steam hole. The cooker is 21 cm high without lid or 24cm with the lid and 28cm in diameter plus handles makes it 36cm. The cable is 90cm long. It fits nicely into ... ...tested before it leaves the Morphy Richards factory and is guaranteed for 2 years. . My findings . I have had the machine for a few months now and it has been used a few times to cook rice or pasta. Chopsticks optional Advantages: Perfect rice every time, Disadvantages: Don't cook 'quick cook' rice in it as it comes out as a sticky mess ...RK700015 also known as the Tefal Electronic Multi Cooker. This is a combined rice cooker, slow cooker and steamer. It is a fairly compact round machine; its dimensions are 29 x 28 x 28 cm (H, W, D) so it doesn't take up much space; about the same as a large saucepan. It has a very large capacity and can cook up to 10 cups of rice which is enough for 10 portions. In litres this equates to a volume of 3.2. 1 level cup holds approximately 150 grams ... ...start to start cooking. The Tefal automatically works out the time depending on the amount of rice and water. It also stops the cooking process once all the water has been absorbed and will move into the 'keep warm' stage and the orange LED pops on at this stage. Went moldy Advantages: Can leave to cook while you go out and do something else Disadvantages: This one went moldy ...my return home and and despite following instructions the terracotta pot glaze crackled and went moldy after less than 4 uses - not quite the 20 years of service managed by my holiday home find. I contacted Morphy Richards but because I had lost my receipt they wouldn't replace it. ... Why didnt i Get One Years Ago !!!!! Advantages: Dinner is ready when you get home. Easy to use Disadvantages: NONE I bought this model from Sainsburys at a pricely sum of £20. Best money spent by far. This model has 4 settings, high, medium, low and off. Dont know why i didnt get one of these years ago. I have heard about them but always assumed they were hard work and a little bit old fashioned, until I stayed with a friend who used one all the time, so i purchased myself one and my life is transformed. (slight exaggeration, but you get the gist !!!) Usually ... ...you dont have time you could always prepare the night before and put in the fridge. You can even make it up in the pot, put the lid on the keep that in the fridge and then just transfer to the unit and switch on and go. Be careful not to put anything in thats too hot or too cold as this will crack the pot. Also never put the unit on to warm while preparing.
