So you think you don't need one?
Review of Tefal RK700015 by bubblegum_princess

Advantages: Easy to use; perfect fluffy rice, easy to clean
Disadvantages: None

...decided to opt for the Tefal RK700015. Compared to our old rice cooker, the Tefal is a monster of a contraption, capable of cooking rice for 10 people. Fairly big, the size of a large saucepan, it looks pretty stylish in silver and black. It comes in 2 parts, the outer container which contains the heating device and has a smart click-shut lid, and the non-stick pan, which is where the rice goes into and just fits inside the cooker. *Price* We bought ...
...rolling down the side (though Tefal have thoughtfully attached a "dew collector" on the side to prevent this kind of spillage). Give the rice a stir with the black plastic rice spoon included (don't use your own as it will remove the non-stick coating from the pan) and serve! I have been genuinely delighted with the rice we have made using this: it's light, fluffy, slightly sticky, and such a huge improvement on the rather mushy rice I used to make ... Read review

Review of Tefal RK700015 Round R/Cooker S/Steel 3IN by J----

Advantages: Perfect rice every time,
Disadvantages: Don't cook 'quick cook' rice in it as it comes out as a sticky mess

...RK700015 also known as the Tefal Electronic Multi Cooker. This is a combined rice cooker, slow cooker and steamer. It is a fairly compact round machine; its dimensions are 29 x 28 x 28 cm (H, W, D) so it doesn't take up much space; about the same as a large saucepan. It has a very large capacity and can cook up to 10 cups of rice which is enough for 10 portions. In litres this equates to a volume of 3.2. 1 level cup holds approximately 150 grams ...
...start to start cooking. The Tefal automatically works out the time depending on the amount of rice and water. It also stops the cooking process once all the water has been absorbed and will move into the 'keep warm' stage and the orange LED pops on at this stage. When delaying he start you use the time key to programme the interval you want and then the start key to set it. Once you are used to its basic operations you can mess about with it a bit ... Nice Rice!
Review of Tefal 3682.15 by Lizzieanne15

Advantages: So easy to use
Disadvantages: None so far!

I received the Tefal 3.2l Classic automatic rice cooker as a present from my Mum - Good old Mum! To be honest, whenever I thought about the concept of a rice cooker, I thought, "What's the point?" Surely a saucepan or a microwave would cook rice just as well? Every friend I asked agreed with this theory - they all seem to either boil rice in a saucepan on the hob or in a microwave. So it was with trepidation that I first tried out my new rice cooker ...
...you could only cook plain rice in this new gadget, but the instruction leaflet contains recipes for risottos, pasta, steamed vegetables and fruit. My rice cooker looks much like a slow cooker, with a non-stick internal bowl plus a basket that sits inside the bowl. The basket is used for steaming fruit and veg, it is not required to cook rice. The lid has a clear section, so you can see what's happening, and the cooker comes complete with a serving ... Read review

Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by Wjww

Advantages: size, easy to clean, value for money
Disadvantages: none

I brought my morphy richards in the debenhams blue cross sale january 2007, at an excellent bargain price of £20, excellent value. Lovely stylish silver colour, shape and design. The slow cooker comes with removeble lid and dish, very easy cleaning, as the dish is non stick. Also has large capacity for food inside. The glass lid is glass, so you can even watch it cooking without removing the lid if ya hanging around at home. It has three heat ...
...want the food to cook, but the slower you cook the better. food generally comes out better on the medium setting. Rice cooking made easy - or is it?
Review of Cookworks RCG1500 Round R/Cooker White by larsbaby

Advantages: Cheap, apparently easy to use once you get the hang of it
Disadvantages: I got a faulty unit and wasn't prepared to risk it again with a new one

NTRODUCTION Due to a bit of Christmas net shopping, I had a £10 gift voucher from Argos burning a hole in my pocket and needing to be used by February. As this is pretty soon, I racked my brains for something I needed, and I came up with this, as I always seem to run out of pots big enough for cooking fair amounts of rice, and my mum keeps on raving about how good rice cookers are. This particular model seems to be exclusive to Argos. It was half ...
...I thought this worth reviewing as it's a gadget I've always fancied yet never been fully convinced of its merits. Since it's effectively free I can't go wrong, so is it an experiment that has been worth carrying out? We are about to see. PACKAGING The Cooker comes neatly packed in a light blue cardboard box with several pictures of the cooker on it; the glass cooker lid is on top, encased in a plastic bag, and protected by some polystyrene. The ... Read review
