Death in Jeddah
Review of Arabian Nightmare - Richard Arnot, Helen Chryssides by  hiker

Advantages: Another side of the story...
Disadvantages: ...but the truth remains uncertain

...'s death was something other than a sad, avoidable, accident. Arabian Nightmare tells the other side of that story. Richard Arnot was the British surgeon who hosted the party in that second floor flat, with the fateful balcony. He lived there with his wife and two children. Richard and Penny had not had the happiest of marriages and the move to Saudi Arabia had been almost a last-ditch attempt to make it work. It was to prove a spectacularly bad idea ~ as instinctively they might have known it would be, although they couldn't possibly see the extent to which they would become embroiled in the ways and means of their temporary abode. When deciding upon the Middle East as their 'somewhere warm' to start again, they were both agreed that Saudi was too restrictive for westernised foreigners, and especially for women. Yet... Richard- the brother of : "A Child called IT "
Review of A Brother's Journey - Richard B. Pelzer by  christina44

Advantages: The true worth of a spirit. A Triumphant ending.
Disadvantages: The Horrors disadvantages and shame of Abuse

...THE BROTHER OF "A CHILD CALLED IT" SPEAKS UP AT LAST! YEEEESSS !!!!!!! This was my thoughts as I picked the biography out from the shelves of glossy romantics, jokes and all things light. I don't know why I was so drawn to yet another harrowing tale of a lost childhood..but as soon as I saw the surname "Peltzer "I knew I'd discovered someting precious yet so awful all at the same time that I had to have it. Just over a week ago,I saw this biography in the top ten best sellers on the shelves of Asda. It is a light book to handle and I wasn't expecting the rather short in comparison 18 chapter layout. After leafing through the front and back cover the afterword, and the small section about the author who is now married I bought it at once.- The author takes your eye because this is Richard Peltzer; the older brother who... A Brother's Journey- About Richard Pelzer
Review of Richard B. Pelzer by  DixieChick10

Advantages: gives you information about Richard Pelzer
Disadvantages: dont know.

...When I first read Richard Pelzers book I couldn't help but feel that he saw what reaction his brother got from 'A Child Called It' and decided to make a fortune himself, but as you read the book you see what he went through because David wasn't there. He was born in 1965 Daly City, San Mateo County, California and was number four of five sons. His books are all about the abuse he recieved from his mother when his older brother David was taken away by the authorities, but unlike David, Richard never was taken away by them and had to suffer with that abuse for most of his childhood. There has apparently been a big fued between Richard and his brother because David's said he's making it all up, just for the money, but Richard's defended himself saying he'd rather give all the money to charity, that's where me and my brother...
