    Advantages Advantages superb macro and virtually no shutter lag

    Main features 3.21 megapixel CCD which means you can print good quality up to A4 3x optical zoom (35-105mm in 35mm camera format) which gives you a little true zoom, beware of digital zoom as this is no different to blowing up the picture on your computer. Good selection of shutter speeds from 8sec to 1/1500sec so almost all situations can be covered eaisily 1.5" TFT (approx. 113,000 pixels) which is a good size and can be seen clearly in all but the brightest situations Exposure modes: Centre weighted, spot and multi give you a good choice and for more specalist photography Internal 8MB ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages can take a while to turn on

    I brought this camera just over 1 year ago when my son was born. I have found it to be straightforward to use and was able to take pictures within minutes of reciving it. Once its on and in the photo mode it seems to ake pictures almost as quickly as a normal point and shoot camera which i know is not allways the case with digital cameras. It is very easy to upload the pictures on to your pc via a usb port and it doesnt take too much time. I would recomend buying extra memory as the inbuilt memory of 8mb would probably only hold a few photos at maximum resolution. I have a 64mb card and this ... more

    well, i bought this as my first camera before xmas 2003, as i wanted a cheaper camera (in case i never used it!) for taking pictures of our 1st child, but i wanted one that produced good quality - and i found it in the ricoh rr30!!! i managed to get it from asda - good as i was working there - and it was a good price - £140. such an excellent camera, easy to use, easy to tranfer pictures to the pc for editing and not too expensive!! it has the general camera - with timer and video camera for 30secs - without sound, which is a shame. there are 6 different settings for the camera - portrait ... more
