Ricoh's MP9060A internal DVD plus CD-RW drive is a cost-effective solution for watching movies, storing audio/video files, creating presentations, backing up data, and making your...more...own music CDs! It also provides a 200ms average random access time and a 95ms seek time when reading DVD media and a 120ms average random access time and a 110ms seek time when reading CDs. Plus, it is compatible with all DVD and CD-ROM media, as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs. The MP9060A allows you to record reliably and consistently at 6X (900KB per second) on write-once CD-R media, which are perfect for archiving data or sharing files, and also allows you to record, erase, and re-record on the same disc up to 1, 000 times at 4X (600KB per second). It also has a 24X CD-ROM read speed (3, 600KB per second), so you don't ever have to wait to review your data. This DVD Plus CD-Rewriter is a real time saver! It features a large 2MB buffer, which helps to eliminate buffer under run and prevent wasted media, and an EIDE/ATAPI interface, which makes installation quick and easy. Simply slip it into an available half-height bay and plug in the cables. If you are running Windows 95 or 98, your computer will recognize the drive immediately.
The recorder is one of the new range of so called 4 in one drives, a cd player writer re-writer and dvd player.
The ricoh can overburn cd's a practice i find very useful in getting that extra few megabytes.
