This camera was bundled in with my computer package bought three years ago. I have found the camera to be easy to use, with on screen menus. The picture quality is dependent on the format chosen - economy, normal or fine. Overall a good camera for the first time user. The only drawback is the heavy use of battery power - the use of an AC adaptor is recommended for uploading photos to PCs. Also the small LCD screen tends to compress any detail - a larger screen would be useful. However, for the first time user the camera is adequate, providing that no special effects are required.
