This rating is used to state the storage capability of a battery, e.g. a 1000mAh battery would be capable of delivering 1000mA of current consistently for one hour whereas a 2000mAh battery would deliver the same 1000mA of current for two hours. Li-on rechargeable digital batteries can deliver 40% more capacity than comparably sized NiCd batteries and weigh less than the nickel-based batteries and develop no memory effect. Advantages: ease of use Disadvantages: none up 2 now
I bought the ricoh 6000 this week, I've been searching shops and the net trying all the forums for info on the best camera, but reading these you would never buy one as theres always a couple compaining about every model going. Anyway i purchased the 6000 I only wanted to spend about £300 but this was £360 but came with AC adapter, 8meg carf plus an extra 16 mb card. It takes great pics(only used it in auto mode upto now) but theres so many settings ...

...drivers has been maintained by Ricoh covering all the newer operating systems. Connection to PC is via a supplied USB cable, with the option of connecting to a TV monitor to display your results on the big screen, again the cable is supplied to do this. Power is provided by rechargeable battery, including charger, but you cannot use standard batteries if this happens to go flat. Power can be conserved by turning off the LCD display.
Storage is on ... ...64 Meg card, giving around 1400 low res images, and upto 55ish high res images, with many settings in between. Maximum pixels is upto 3megapixels, but this does use interpolation, otherwise 2 megapixels is the norm. Output to hard copy is good on my HP Deskjet930C, so results will depend on the printer used.
Control of the camera is by a Jog Dial, with simple options to select the mode ( take photo, replay, PC mode etc ) and within that a menu is ...

...- simply search out the Ricoh RDC 6000.
My brother bought one off eBay for just over £100 and asked me to take a look at it for him. I went round to install it and set it up for him - then went straight back home and bought myself one off eBay for £100 too.
It is described as an Image Capturing Device rather than a camera and comes with AC adapter, 8 MB SmartMedia card, carry case, USB lead and a lead that lets you view your images on your TV!

Depending on the quality of resolution you choose, the RDC6000 can store anything from 8 to nearly 200 still images on an 8MB smartMedia card.
All in all the RDC6000 is a 2.1 MegaPixel digital camera that also has the facility to record short avi movies and has many many features including ...

Advantages: It's small, attractive and takes great photos! Disadvantages: None that I've found so far.
...I won this camera in a prize draw and although I already had a digital camera, when I opened the box and had a look at this one I was delighted. The old RicohRDC-6000 I have looks so drab compared to this nifty little Nikon.
The two are similar in that they have a resolution of 2.1 mp's, but the 775 has the added bonus of the optical zoom (x3)lens.
I've seen it on sale in the shops from £280-300, so it has fairly typical specifications for that price range. The one thing missing in the box is any kind of case for the camera, and the soft leather one I bought cost about £12.
It was easy to set up using the included Quick start guide which comes in poster form, and I was taking my first pictures as soon as the battery had charged up ... only an hour or so later. Transferring the images to the computer is very simple using either...

Picked this up nearly 3 months ago now as my third compact digital after having a kodak for my first then a canon IXUS 500 after that.
I also shoot with a Canon EOS 300d so was looking for great image quality, and a general upgrade from my IXUS.
