I'm the kind of person who prefers to stop a cold in its tracks with echinacea, garlic and Vitamin C rather than taking over-the-counter medication to alleviate symptoms. But sometimes the cold virus is stronger than the natural preventatives, and my colds - rare though they are - seem to come with a standard sore throat and dry cough. I go to a College were 550 people roam around the place, so it is only natural for me to pick up a nasty cold and a very dry, nasty cough from time to time- more so than most, as my Lungs were weakened as a child due to pneumonia. It is inevitable then that I would look around for relief from a sore throat and a cough then, as, particularly in Winter I always seem to pick such germs up. I bought myself some lovely sweets with herbs called Ricola Herb Lozenges. They were in a pretty yellow packet and it says they contain 13 different types of herbs. I thought these sounded different and I bought them as they were only 99p from my Chemist in the village. I like the taste of these as they are nice but difficult to describe. They taste of lemons and mints and are nice enough to just eat as the occasional sweet rather than for a cough.
