Say goodbye to the old silk-screen method. Everest printing technology ushers in a new era of affordable, offset quality CD/DVD printing, producing photo-realistic labels that have the rugged durability of thermal. With Everest, CD-R/DVD-R labeling has taken a quantum leap into the future. Photo-Realistic Images using Rimage's patented Everest printing technology is a ground breaking thermal-retransfer system that redefines the industry standard. MicroDry variable dot printing delivers images equivalent to 160 lines per inch, - a true paradigm shift in technology. AutoEverest blows away traditional screen printing (90 LPI), and eclipses magazine print standards (150 LPI), delivering unequaled CD printing quality. Innovative White Undercoat Printing is achieved by using an available CMY-White ribbon. This remarkable capability allows you to achieve label effects previously unattainable, including photo-realistic printing on silver surface media.
Advantages: Reliable, high quality outputs Disadvantages: 30 seconds per badge, a little noisy
...--Background--
We have used Magicard badge printers for approximately 5 years now to produce ID badges for staff and students alike. We started off with a couple of the original white RIo printers and upgraded to the Rio 2 model 3 years ago. Since then we have bought 7 of these devices for our various campuses and print out on average 10, 000 cards per year.
As well as standard printing, there are various other clever functions these printers can do such as produce holograms, write to magnetic strips should your cards have them and produce bar codes.
--Whats in the box--
These things are not small and are also quite heavy. They come extremely well packed with thick polystyrene padding. As well as the printer, you get the mains lead, a parellel cable AND a USB cable, a drivers CD which also contains the user manual in...

Advantages: Wonderful sound quality, Suprisingly low price, Amazing design Disadvantages: None that I can see.
...Before I bought these speakers about a year ago, I had thoroughly searched the internet for any opinion, review, press release, and editorial on the Creature II and discovered that these were rather exceptional speakers. Yet I was still concerned that this was a product of design over quality - simply due to the shockingly small size of the satellite speakers (about the size of your fist), and that JBL were more concerned about desigining some speakers that would complement Apple Macs than impress the music listener. Even when I went to Tottenham Court Road to test out the Creature II, I was not quite convinced that the audio quality was up to scratch. This could have been due to the fact that it was very noisy in-store, with lots of people and the obligatory shop muzak playing - obviously no condition to seriously compare speaker...

Advantages: Good sound quality, Looks Great Disadvantages: Resonance at 50Hz
...I'm quite knowledgable about speakers systems, so i bought these after doing a lot of research to make sure i was getting a good product. They are simple to get working and i was initially very happy with the quality of sound they produced. After about 2 hours of playing with my new gadget i found that the sub resonated quite audiably at 50Hz. I thought this was a fault with the system so I exchanged them for another 'Creature II' and i still found this resonance was apparent. Im guessing its just the natural frequency of the sub which is a shame as it is in audiable range. After a few hours of fiddling with high and low pass filters and an equaliser I managed to get rid of this problem, fine for me but i feel this may be a bit complex for novices.
After sorting out the initial problems, I can safely say that this is one of the best...
