Advantages: Cheap, Good Coverage, All Day Coverage Disadvantages: Glitter Makes It Unsuitable For Some
...something cheap and quick and Rimmel seem to have a good reputation for quality cosmetics at cheap prices, so why not?
This 30ml Rimmel foundation stood out at me with it's girly pink cap and lettering, also it stood out because of price, at the time of my purchase it was an amazing £3.95, which was a lot less than my usual foundation and certainly a lot less than I had spent in the past, sometimes I had spent up to £20 trying to find ... ...this price.
Rimmel has also brought out a Recover concealer to compliment this foundation and I believe this is a good idea as you get the benefit of the ideal amount of coverage for your skin as this foundation on it's own may struggle if you have redness, spots or marks on your face.
I wouldn't recommend this foundation if you have fine lines or wrinkles as the glittery effect will emphasis those lines and I think ... more
I'm not a huge fan of foundations as my skin is fairly sensitive and I have to be very careful about which brands I can use and for how long before my skin starts flaring up on me.
My normal brand of choice in the past has been L'Oreal Colour Match, however, recently I have been unable to find my shade of choice and standing in Boots and needing a quick fix for work, I needed to find something cheap and quick and Rimmel seem to have a good reputation for quality cosmetics at cheap prices, so why not?

Well, at that price, I could afford to only use it a few times if it is no good, it's not too much money down the drain.
I chose shade 100 which is Ivory.
This particular foundation contains Vitamins C&E to promote healthy skin, it also promises an illuminating, anti fatigue action and these claims are found on the front of the bottle in quite small writing, which, if like me, you are short sighted, you may struggle to read. On the rear of the bottle, this foundations states the claims of having 'EnergyBoost complex replumps skin and replenishes complexion. Brightening formula for a radiant and smooth finish. All day coverage'
This all sounded good to me and I was happy to give it ago.
Unscrewing the cap, which is fairly secure and sturdy, I noticed this bottle is not a pump action bottle, it is a squeezey plastic bottle which, when full is no problem, however now I have nearly finished the bottle, it has become quite hard to squeeze the remnants out. The nozzle is fairly narrow and could probably be better if it a tiny bit wider.
Squeezing out the foundation I noticed it had a fairly creamy consistency and I did notice it looked quite heavy in the palm of my hand and I began to have some doubts about using it. I only used an amount the size of a 5p piece. I dotted the foundation in my usual way onto my face and blended in with my make up sponge.
My first application was none too successful, the foundation clung to my dry patches and it looked terrible.
I then took the foundation off fairly easily with a cleansing wipe and started again after moisturising my face.
I again used the small amount and blended in the same way. I noticed that this foundation did not feel heavy nor sticky nor tacky. The foundation itself contains quite a bit of a glittery substance, which, I think is to reflect the light and give the illusion of a smoother complexion, however, I can see that if you had very dry skin or your skin was more mature, this foundation may only serve to highlight any imperfections that you may have.
For me, I quite like a bit of sparkle and I wasn't bothered about the amount in the foundation. After applying the foundation I saw that my complexion looked quite 'dewy' and fresh, the foundation had blended very well and the side of my face down into my neck without looking orange. Coverage on my face was also good, it did cover my blemishes but not totally and I did have to use a separate concealer for this purpose. As I never use too much foundation, I don't know whether if you applied more, you'd get some better coverage or not. The foundation certainly didn't make my face feel clogged at all.
Throughout the day, I noticed that if I rubbed my face, a small amount of glitter was noticeable on my fingers, which concerned me slightly, I didn't expect this foundation to work wonders but I didn't expect it to rub off either. I needn't have worried, whenever I checked my make up throughout the day, it looked fine and had stayed put.
At the end of the day, around 9pm, admittedly most of the foundation had rubbed off and it stared to look a bit patchy but after a day at work, you can't expect too much at that time of day.
Again, the foundation was very easily removed with a cleansing wipe and bits weren't left all over my face.
VERDICT In my opinion, this is a super foundation for what I paid for it and it has become my regular foundation at the moment.
I can't say that I notice any anti fatigue action, but maybe that effect is obtained by making the foundation sparkly and therefore the light reflects off your face making any dark circles less noticeable.
The foundation would be a good buy for those in their teens, twenties or early thirties and I believe that it offers good value for money, even at the current retail price of £6.49 in Boots. The beauty of this foundation is because it is sparkly, you only want to use a small amount, which means it goes further than you would expect of a foundation at this price.
Rimmel has also brought out a Recover concealer to compliment this foundation and I believe this is a good idea as you get the benefit of the ideal amount of coverage for your skin as this foundation on it's own may struggle if you have redness, spots or marks on your face.
I wouldn't recommend this foundation if you have fine lines or wrinkles as the glittery effect will emphasis those lines and I think it may just sink in rather than giving any effect, I also would advise popping on moisturiser before you use this if you have dry skin, the glitter again clings to dry patches and makes then more noticeable. I also advise avoiding using pressed or loose powder afterwards too as the effect becomes very heavy and matte,
Overall, a super foundation and a bargain price, still cheaper than it's nearest rivals, although I hope that Rimmel don't stop this when it becomes less popular as they have done in the past. Great for a teenager maybe just starting to wear make up, I have recommended this foundation to my 16 year old cousin who has been very impressed with it.
Advantages: nice smell, texture, right viscosity Disadvantages: shiney and glittery
...something which rimmel have got right. It is also quite long lasting, although it needs to be retouched in the day.
Use it if you don't mind looking shiney and kind of clown-like (or at night time when it is flattering) Not truly a bad product, but not recommended. ...

Advantages: Nice consistency, gives even coverage Disadvantages: A little sticky when worn alone, doesn't last 12 hours
Rimmel is a well-established, respected brand, especially within the UK. It's fairly expensive, but with products like makeup, most girls (maybe some men too!) find that the more you spend, the more beautiful you look. This foundation is part of Rimmel's cosmetics, and found easily within supermarkets, drug stores, and beauty stores in the makeup sections. It's on sale for around £5.60-£5.80, fairly expensive for not a particularly big bottle, but ... ...perfect colour, and came across Rimmel Recover. I've been using it for the past year and am very happy with it. I find it is light enough to use for most of the day - which is perfect as I'm at work all day, busy at weekends seeing family and friends, etc, and have little time to be constantly re-applying make up. I can use this make up both for work and going out drinking in the evenings, as I'm comfortable with how natural the colour looks on my ...

Advantages: cheap, good coverage, Disadvantages: none that I can see
I bought this foundation last week as I had a wedding to attend and wanted a foundation that would keep my skin hydrated and well covered all day! I usually have quite dry sensitive skin but as I am currently pregnant, I have found my skin much drier and much more sensitive! I usually use Max Factor colour adapt but I am penny counting at the moment so thought Id try a cheaper alternative!
I purchased the foundation in Asda for £4.98, which I thought ... ...anti- fatigue foundation. The foundation contains Vitamins C and E. But I have seen for as little as £2.98 or as much as £6.49 so shop about!!
Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that can be found in foods such as nuts, oils and fruits such as mango, kiwi and veg like broccoli and spinach. Vitamin E added to lotions, creams, and other skin care products helps keep skin looking younger. It helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. ...

Advantages: improved texture of skin, didn't irritate, smells nice Disadvantages: too shimmery and sparkly
...look a bit healthier.
Rimmel Recover Foundation seemed to be the answer to my problems. It says on the front of the tube that it contains vitamins C and E - which are supposedly great for pepping up the skin, and it describes itself as an "Illuminating, anti-fatigue foundation". It also states on the back of the tube that it contains an "energyboost complex" which re-plumps the skin and replenishes the complexion, and lasts all day. Sounds like ... ...other people like me, so Rimmel should really maximise on that and make the writing clearer.
It cost me £6.35 from Boots the Chemist, for a 30ml tube - so I think this is quite dear for a lower end of the market product. Strangly enough, I think if this had been made by a brand such as Max Factor, I probably would have said this was cheap. Just goes to show how marketing works!!
They had five shades of this in Boots - and I chose True Nude. The ...

Advantages: Price, Readily available, covers well, light to wear, no wastage, lasts hours , consistant Disadvantages: you look so fab you may get too much male attention to handle ! phew!
...I really love the Rimmel Recover Foundation and nearly always return to buy it, again and again over other similar products and brands. It comes in a plastic bottle with stopper in the top to control the flow of the foundation as it comes out. The lid is a decent size too, not fiddley to remove and bright pink so you can find it when you drop it !! (I do a lot of dropping of lids, and a lot of time looking for where they rolled to !) I don't like ... ...contents near the end. This Rimmel foundation you get very little wastage, when I get to the last dregs I just stand it on its lid, upside-down, and very quickly I can get enough out for another days use !! Its amazing what you can get from a seemingly empty bottle.
The foundation its self is very runny liquid, but this doesn't mean that you need more to get coverage. It smooths onto the skin with ease and covers instantly, and with out being thick ...

I am already a big fan of rimmelfoundation products and m favourite used to br rimmelrecover, but hey, variety is the dpice of life, so i thought id give this one a go! Rimmel hydrasense foundation comes in a beige coloured bottle with a brown lid. On the front it has the Rimmel London logo on with slogan "flawless hydrating make-up" You then have the colour and what sort of skin type it works well with. On the back you have some details about the foundation being smooth, flawless, natural looking and dermatological tested.
I must say the foundation bottle doesn't look too exciting very average and didn't really stand out from the rest. I think I only brought the foundation because i trust the brand.
The foundation inside is very creamy and doesn't feel to thick and clammy like some foundations.Once the foundation is smoothed all ...
