Bear in mind any of the above shades can be used on any skin colour however pale it is, this is just advice really as using a very dark one on fair skin may cause the outcome to look unnatural and streaks will be more noticeable, the product is after all just meant to add a healthy glow to your skin tone rather than give you a deep all over tan. I find this useful though as it does give you the chance to have more control as to how you want your finished result to be.
The product itself ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I find this product fairly straight forward to use, it can be abit messy though if your not careful and would recommend having an old towel and some soapy water handy, as obviously the palms of your hands get covered in the stuff so need to be rinsed throughout the application, it won't stain them as such as this product easily washes off but the more build up you have the harder it will be to remove, I had this problem when i first used this but found a little frantic scrubbing in hot water did the trick. The best way to use this as with most self tans is to have a bath/shower first and exfoiliate and moisturise, moisture is certainly the key to applying this, I found to get the best result from this it was better to use it mixed in with a little moisturiser as this helps create a much more even colour. You can build up the colour with a 2nd and 3rd application for a stronger result, this seems to be the safest way to get a darker outcome, in my opinion it is much better to use a lighter cream and layer it up than use a darker one once.
The colour of this cream always achieves a natural looking glow for me, the only downsides of the finished look are that it wears off quite quickly and is not resistant at all to water, this could be seen as a plus point if needed to be removed in a hurry but I personally found that I have problems with having white hands as one wash and it fades almost completely, also I can imagine( haven't had this actually happen to me though, yet!) if you got caught in the rain with this then it may leave you looking pretty damn streaky.Also this can rub off onto your clothes, so wouldn't wear anything white as you may end up looking abit on the grubby side!
Overview ~~~~~~~~ The tube it comes in very basic in design but clearly labelled as to what it does, the instructions on this are quite short and could maybe use a little more detail, for £3.99- (approx) you get 100mls which lasts for about 25 full body applications, althogh not perfect I would buy this product again as you certainly can't argue with the price and is ideal for a quick fix and has a lovely smell too.

I purchased the Medium Matte version of the SunShimmer Instant Tan, please do not get the shimmer version it does not look natural.
I am fair to medium skin tone and usually use sunbeds however haven't been on for a while and thought I would try this. Make sure you exfoliate as you usually would with false tan. I put it on first time using my hands and no gloves however went onto my body a good colour, no streaks and only came off when washing with ... ...had very orangey red hands and no soap and water would shift it.
Next attempt I used plastic gloves and found it actually went on better on my skin and no orange hands.
I would recommend this product it does not transfer onto clothes, even on a white dress! Very quick and easy no nasty smell, no developing time and no odd streaks.
It is very easy to correct on elbows and knees etc. Perfect Tan and no skin damage ...

Rimmel Sunshimmer
This product is an instant 'no fuss' tan. It's cheap, can be applied quickly and in my experience is the least streaky self-tanner available for the under £11 range. I've tried many different self tanning products, from mousse, to leg gels and spray but haven't found one I like as much as Rimmel and not many are as cheap.
However, I would say it's best for going out at night rather than during the day. It gives a mostly even result, ... ...day in the sunshine. I found it slightly too dark for day wear, but wearing one layer would possibly be ok.
There is a certain knack for applying it, otherwise you will end up with streaks. Apply it in layers, but don't wait until it's completely dry before applying a second layer as it will streak. I would suggest doing one leg, then the other and then go back to the first leg and apply a second layer. Ensure you wash your hands between layers ...

Stay away!!!! i tried this almost a year ago now, wasn't too expensive but wait till you hear the rest.
At first i applied it to my face giving me a nice equalish tan with a bit of glimmer, but trying to get the stuff off my hands was a nightmare. But after about an hour of failing to get it off, it faded a bit from my hands.
My face started to tingle and burn, looked in the mirror and i had blotches, i rushed to get the make up removers which ... ...the nightmare was over until i woke up the next morning with loads of burnt looking patches on my face, which lasted about a week, it was horrible, i came to the conclusion that it was my sensitive skin but i seem to doubt that.
Atleast i got refunded, the only good thing to happen that week.
I wouldn't advise taking the risk, its just a disaster waiting to happen. ...

Well, I seem to have lost my Johnsons Holiday Skin Body Lotion that I reviewed earler - daughters looking decidedly browner but swears she hasn't seen it. So in need of a quick fix I saw this in Tesco On BOGOF and thought I'd give it a go.
DESCRIPTION
It is called RimmelSunShimmerInstantTanMake-up. It comes in either Light Matte for a lighter sunkissed look or Dark Matte, which would be more suitable for someone with darker skin or someone who already has a tan (lucky thing) and would like to enhance and make it darker.
It comes in either a light brown shimmery tube or a dark brown shimmery tube with Yellow SUNSHIMMER written at the top and white "InstantTan" and the strength written below.
When I bought it in Tesco it was approximately £4.50 and on "buy one, get one free offer". I don't know for how long this offer will ...

I am not a naturally tanned person, in fact if you read my op on Boots soltan tanning mouse you will discover I have a blue tint to my scottish skin. In my fight to look tanned on a night out and not being organised enough to remeber to apply tanning mouse the day before I bought rimmelsunshimmer.
This is a wash off instanttanmake up for face and body. Although I have not been daring enought to try it on my face.
I never go out at night with it on my arms and legs.
As with all these products you are best to exfoliate and moisturise first.
Then put some on you hands. DOnt be scared by the VERY DARK brown cream that comes out, it will look light once rubbed in. Dont put too much on knees and elbows, as it will look orangey.
Make sure you have some soap, or handwash handy to wash ASAP after applying or you will have nice brown ...
